Great product detected sewer gas leak
After almost two years of smelling sewer gas inside the house and landlords not taking any notice I decided to invest in this. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner! It detected a leak in the sink plug holes and one of the toilets straight away. I even tested at my parents house just to make sure it wasn’t faulty and it didn’t detect anything around the same areas (they do not have any issues with sewer gas) but when doing a test run on gas stove it worked straight away. Great product.

Very Good
This is the best thing that I have bought in a long time. I had 2 gas leaks in a Mobil home I could smell gas coming from somewhere in the van, I called the gas fitter he came and checked out the system and he could not detect any leeks. But I still could smell gas leaking, so I bought this gas detector and It found 2 leaks in seconds, one under a press at a Isolating valve, and another at the bottle outside the van. Great product I would not be without It.

Did the Job
My wife kept saying she could smell gas (she has good sense of smell) in our living room.We had recently had our kitchen done and the gas cooker was moved so of course gas had to be turned off at main inlet, which is situated with the meter, in small cupboard in living room. So we bought gas detector and it did detect gas by main inlet valve. Called Gas Board (Cadent) they were out within an hour. The valve was leaking, it was at least 20 years old, and they replaced it with new one. They said it was quite common because most valve do not get moved, but if they are old and never been moved for a long time it can break the seal and cause a leak.Something to keep in mind if you have had gas work done in your home.

Life saving device.
I’ve been smelling a damp smell in my front room for months, so I decided to tackle the problem during my holiday.I bought a dehumidifier to try and get the moisture in the air and I put some cat litter down to see if that would remove the smell but nothing would get rid of it.My next plan was to take the plaster off the wall but then I got wondering if it could possibly be the gas meter.I sprayed some soppy water onto some of the joints connecting the gas meter and there were no signs of a leek, I also tried using the carbon monoxide detector to see if that could pick anything up but that was all good.I then took a punt on this gas meter detector and I’m really glad I did.I turned the device on waited a bout 30 seconds and then turned the sensitivity down until the sound went off. I then put it by my gas meter and to my surprise all the light on the devices light up and the alarm went off.I called the gas board they came out and confirmed that there was a leek and they replace the meter straight away, they were very impressed with the detector that I used.Very glad I bought this device it potential saved our lives.

It works
I could smell gas for months but family and visitors said time after time that it was just me and that they couldn't smell anything. I couldn't see any hike in usage so I dismissed it . But i just couldnt shake this smell off .To cut a long story short I bought one of these detectors which resulted in having to get Gas Board out who then had to dig up my front way. I'd had a big hole in the service pipe which required a new meter etc. The gas man and diggers were so impressed at my little tool after I gave them a demonstration of where I thought the leak was and where it turned out to be , which I was right about and the meter confirmed it( as did their expensive meters and gadgets). I also ran a test around other gas pipes around the boiler just to have a fair experiment shall we say, no leaks anywhere else . Also statistics say its women who report gas leaks in the home. Make of that what you will but for £20 it confirmed my concerns and when National Grid are impressed by it then you know its something to invest in.

Life saving tool
So easy to use. Accurate, and literally saved our life. The gas pipe was in our toilet. We noticed a smell, but thought it was from the sewer. The Plummer came out, to fit a new our cooker, and said that the gas test showed to be. within perimeters. If I couldn’t smell gas. I said that I had smelt something but was trying to cover it up. For at least 18 months. I also said that my meter seamed to be moving even though no gas was actually on.. We used this tool. And it buzzed like mad. The Plummer said to switch of the gas at the mains And dig up the toilet.this is what we found. So a big Thankyou to this little life saver. I’m just imagining what is going on in your office now. It must be a massive whoopee. But even so, it is the truth. This tool is invaluable.we were sat on a ticking time bomb, and it effected my health too being exposed to gas for such a long time. My memory, was bad and concerntration. I often felt little tremors, and sick. Which has all gone now. Thankyou once again.

Handy device
We bought this as we had been doing a bit of work in the kitchen and noticed that the gas pipes were alarmingly close to some plasterboard that we had been removing. For peace of mind we thought this would come in handy to have around the house in general and so far we are happy with it.Once you turn it on you need to wait a few seconds for it to ‘calibrate’ at which point you can start pointing it towards the area you want to test. After giving it a few tests we found it to be very sensitive to gases which isn’t a bad thing, even detecting gas coming from our waste pipes. The long neck on the device makes it easy to reach some awkward places too.Overall I would recommend this to anyone who may be concerned about gas leaks or has done some work around gas pipes, or even moved into a new home, just for that piece of mind!
