Q: Can you turn the light off

Yes. Two buttons are on the base next to each other. The one on left goes through four functions: low output,medium high and off. The one one the right will turn the light off when running

Q: How much water does the tank hold? Is it heavy after it's filled?

The tank can hold a gallon. If you can pick up a gallon of distilled water, that's how heavy the tank will be. It is a little awkward, however, to turn it over to join it exactly to the bottom while filled with water. You don't have to fill the tank completely if you don't want to.

Q: How loud is this Humidifier?

It's pretty quiet. I can't hear it when it's on. Although, if you have it on the high setting you can hear a gurgle every once in a while, but it isn't too loud.

Q: What's the max room size for this humidifier? I am looking for a large room one.

No single answer. In addition to room size, depends on humidity and temp of outside air, how often you want to refill it, and how much weight you're willing to carry when you refill it. My wife & I are 70. We got the larger 2 1/2 gal unit for our 25' X 30' bedroom. Lasts 1-2 days depending on how cold it is outside. The tank weighs 20 lbs when full. We just gave our 80 year old in-laws who also have a large room this 1 gal unit because a full tank only weighs 8 lbs. It won't last as long but they can lift the tank easily.
