Size:Brass | 1-1/4"  |  Style:220 VAC A two way solenoid Valve means that there are 2 ports in which fluid flows from/to. The direct acting valves will stop flow in either direction, but are still only designed to allow full flow in a single direction. Semi-direct acting valves require assistance from fluid flow to open. These 2W valves may be used with 0 psi working pressure. However, while they do not require pressure from the working fluid to remain open or remain closed, these semi-direct lift valves do require some assistance from the flow of the working fluid for the initial opening/closing. Some gravity flow applications may have trouble overcoming the static friction of the seals within the Valve while initially opening or closing and therefore the Valve may not function properly in some low flow or low pressure applications. General purpose 2-way direct acting and semi-direct lift acting valves. Common applications include water, oil (below 20cSt), air, gas, Freon, *vacuum, weak acids & weak alkali. Check chemical compatibility charts for the Valve body and seals of the valves to see If they are compatible in the case of using a weak acid/base. The semi-direct lift valves will partially open or close from activation, and require fluid assistance to prop open or closed. They can only stop flow in one direction, which is indicated by the arrow on the body of the Valve. If pressure is applied in the opposite direction, the Valve will be opened and allow a slow trickle of fluid in the opposite direction. These valves should only be used for stopping flow in one direction. If preventing of backflow is required, a check Valve should be placed in the line after the solenoid Valve. Direct acting valves switch on their own with no fluid assurance and can block fluid flow in both directions.

Failed after 1 month with steam
10/9/2018 Using the solenoid in a pure steam(no additives) system running at 50psi. After about 30 days of operation(running the equipment for 3 days a week about 7 hours a day) the diaphragms failed. The diaphragms became hard/brittle and cracked. Luckily they fail in the 'closed' mode. Contacting Duda to see if they have a remedy.10/11/2018 I contacted Duda about my solenoid failure and they said the valve is NOT RATED FOR STEAM and the listing is incorrect. However since this is an Amazon owned sale I'll have to get my refund from Amazon. Duda was very responsive and professional.

Made it 5 months with steam.
Used 3/4 STAINESS on 5-10 psig STEAM line. Has been functioning well for about 1 month now. Note that stainless have a higher temperature rating online (250 vs 180 F I think)Update: 2 months. Installed another to replace a pricer valve.Update: 5 months. Diaphragm failed. VITON is not compatible with the corrosion-inhibiting amines in industrial steam. Need EPDM seal. I'll be looking around...

Great valve for the price.
I purchased this valve to work with an on demand pump for a ag sprayer that I built for my tractor. I ran a separate power feed for the pump direct and then ran the supply for this valve through a switch in the cab of my tractor. It worked perfect very quick response time both open and closed. The pump that I use has a max pressure of 60 psi and there is no bleed through.I have only had it completed for about a week and used it twice. I will update after a while as to the durability. It shipped very quickly and came in before the estimated delivery date by a couple of days.Very happy with this valve.

Worked well, then failed.
I bought this to replace a failed solenoid which controls a hot water line to dump excess hot water from a solar hot water system. The prior one was plastic, and required a fairly heavy pressure stream else it would not shut off. This one is much more responsive at low pressures. It has been working well this past summer.Update: After 3 years it stopped working. Not sure why. It seems like the electric solenoid that actuates the valve failed. So I got one of these instead, for $16 on Amazon: HFS 12v Dc Electric Solenoid Valve Water Air Gas, Fuels N/c - 1/4" NPT . The HFS is working well, and cost less than a third of the CE valve.

And a river runs through it
I used this product inline with a marine toilet system on my boat that had it's water supply several feet above the toilet which caused it to slowly flood. Since this was when I was installing it I knew I needed some sort of solenoid inline. The local major marine stores had plastic ones that were a bit smaller but cost $110 each and were made out of plastic, and my first search online found a similar unit to that one for a mere $7.50. Opting for a better material than plastic I went on the hunt for something made of brass, steel, or whatever when I came across these. They're WAY overbuilt for what I needed but you know what? For the price tag why complain? After installing it they worked perfectly until... I noticed that the toilet was slowly filling again. Fortunately this unit has just 4 bolts to undo and I found the issue, a chunk of plastic from my water tanks had worked its way down to this solenoid and got stuck thus stopping the solenoid from sealing properly. So in about 10min I had solved the issue 100%.So ya. If you NEED a solenoid or ANY solenoid I HIGHLY recommend this or any from this sellers store.

Perfect product for my application!
There are all kinds of different solenoid valves and I looked all over even Grainger but could not find a suitable one for my application. I want to control water in RV tanks with 12VDC. Some of the lines are pressurized and need a continuous duty valve. Some of the lines are gravity drain outs and need a large orifice non-pressure flow so the tank would fully empty out. This high quality product works great for both.

Review of 110v AC 20mm 3/4" Normally Closed Brass NBR 2-Way Solenoid Valve
I bought a couple of these units to demonstrate, prototyping of a patentable work on energy conservation in hot water systems for multiunit buildings.I Selected this unit since it directly energizes and remotely controllable from normal voltage supply. The unit functioned per expected design with easy water flow.Installation is relatively simple. Take particular care to use adequate plumbing tapes around threads to prevent any fluid leaks. It needed tightening on a vise rather then in-situ. The opening for electrical wires is somewhat constricted to connect three wires( Green,Black and white wires). As a result I had to make the green ground connection to external nut that holds the coil.I could use a three way control valve for this project( the same gate of the valve that closes one port while opening the other port) that could be cost effective, more reliable and less power consumption instead of using two separate valves.(such design available but for very small diameter sizes intended for medical applications)No one makes one for 3/4" size. The alternate solution was to use two valves( one normally closed, the second one normally open type), cost ineffective, less reliable, and more power consuming solution. Manufacturers, please, take note for new product offering for bigger orifice sizes. The product was delivered well ahead of time of the quoted date. Excellent service at a competitive cost.
