This is an amazing 5V light bulb for making a lamp battery powered! If using in a standard light fixture, the Neutral wire would be ground and the Live/Hot wire would be 5V DC VIN. I found that if powering two lights on the same 5V line only draws about 3 watts which is amazing for battery powered projects!Regarding the brightness, I was expecting it to be dimmer than a standard light bulb which it was. It is probably about 40% to 50% dimmer than a standard 120v LED bulb, however it definitely seems brighter than I was expecting this 5V bulb to be.The packaging threw me off for a second, on the box it says 12V, not 5V, however it is indeed the 5V bulb inside the box. Asides that, this is good for low voltage 5V DC battery powered projects.

After reading all the ridiculous reviews for this light bulb it became clear there is nothing wrong with the bulb, people just didn’t understand how to correctly utilize it.I used the bulb on a standard lamp by rewiring it with a regular USB cable. I then plug that into a rechargeable battery pack and it works flawlessly! The bulb could be a bit brighter, but overall it works really great. Will definitely be buying some more.

UPDATE: first time having it on for more than a minute, at bout 2 hours, it popped and smoked and smelled horrible. i would like a refund.ORIGINAL: Worked for my industrial sewing machine‘s built in gooseneck light. It requires 6volt but standard size base, very hard to find in a nice bright white rather than the dim orange that seems to be the only option meant for sewing machines. This is a real eye saver!

This bulb isn't quite as bright as the daylight bulb it replaced. But it is warm white, which is what I was aiming for.

I tested this on a variable voltage power supply and it worked as expected, but you MUST be careful to check your power supply as it cannot handle any more than 7.5 volts safely.

Our church was facing the expense of replacing all the emergency lighting because we couldn't find the old style incandescent bulbs. I purchased one of these and it worked perfectly, and I've since purchased enough to do all the fixtures. Since they are LED and only light when there's a power failure, I'm hoping they outlive me.

This worked very nicely for a lamp that was not close enough to a wall outlet, necessitating battery operation. I was able to use a rechargeable USB power pack that I had used when I was travelling extensively.

Runs on 5V. I’m happy.
