A Wish List gift.
I bought this tabletop fountain for a family member for Christmas. Our family drew names last Christmas. Some family members had Wish Lists on Amazon. My hubby drew a family member who had this on her wish list. We were happy to be able to choose a gift we knew she would enjoy receiving. What a great win-win situation for everyone. She was delighted with her gift. Later, she sent me a nice video after she had it all put together on her table at home. It did look nice. She especially liked the sound it made…so soothing. She said it was easy to put together. It was a little pricey, I thought, but it was so easy to shop for. I did not have to waste gas driving all over looking for a gift she might or might not like. It arrived very quickly. It saved me time and I was not anxious wondering if it was something she would like. Wish lists are a great way to let people know what you would like or need.

Very nice fountain
If you follow the directions this is a fantastic fountain! Clean the product before use and the stones as well. It is extremely quiet and peaceful. I use it to sleep at night. I did purchase different stones to use instead of the ones they came with. Very easy to assemble. Perfect for a bedroom or an office.

Not quite as loud as I hoped but still good
Overall I would recommend this. BUT you must follow the instructions. I put it together and put tap water in it and it ran for a little bit but then the pump starting making a loud noise. So I went to the reviews and it said to follow the instructions and sure enough I hadn't. So I boiled the rocks and then rinsed them off (and there was still a sandy residue on them that needing another rinse), I rinsed off the fountain and then put distilled water in it. Now the pump makes no noise. It does make a waterfall sound but it's not as loud as I hoped. A couple things to make sure you do is arrange the rocks so the water does NOT hit any of the rocks because that actually buffers the sound. Once I did all those things, it runs like a dream and if it's quiet, which my office usually is, you can hear the relaxing sound. I think for this pricepoint, it hits the mark. The more expensive ones may be louder but I'm happy with this. Hope that helps! :)

Aesthetically pleasing to the eye
It is perfect! It’s quiet and the trickling of the water is relaxing. I have in my office and sounds great.

Pretty, but the pump is terrible!
This fountain has some good points and some bad points. Its good points are mainly aesthetic. It's a pretty little thing, comes with a good number of attractive pebbles, and you can adjust the water sounds by changing the pebbles around. The orange lights are a little bright for me, but in a dark room they make a nice pattern on the ceiling, and you could tape over them if you wanted them off.The whole thing is made from cheap plastic, and the back is unfinished, so it's best up against a wall, but for the price, I still think it's very attractive - I've had other fountains before, and everybody who saw this new one said "Wow! That's nice!"It's also small (a lot smaller than the measurements say! No dimension of this fountain is anywhere near 13 inches! It's more like 9" high X 8" wide X 7" deep, to be generous), but I like that because it fits nicely on my desk where I can see and hear the gentle trickling water while I work. Now for the negatives:In a nut shell, the pump is rubbish.I see from the other reviews that some people have no trouble with the pump, and others find it intolerably loud - my guess is that this is simply because the pumps are badly manufactured and thus, inconsistent. You could be lucky and get one which works quietly and properly, or you could be unlucky like me, and get a pump which sounds like a coffee grinder.I keep a lot of aquarium fish, so I am used to submersible pumps, and honestly, the only kind of pump I would expect to make a noise that awful is one which is ten years old about to die! It was horrible! I have never seen a pump so bad!I cleaned it, I took it to pieces and lubricated the turbine - everything, but it was hopeless! I could not stop it from rattling, so eventually I cut the wires which held it into the fountain, sealed them over, and installed a cheap Jebao brand pump (under $20), which, by the way, purrs away silently and is perfect.Unfortunately, since the lights are (bizarrely) wired in through the pump, the lights on my fountain no longer work, but this isn't a problem for me, since I bought the fountain for the sound.NOTE TO "INTERNATIONAL" BUYERS: A problem that you might not expect is that, even though Amazon ships this fountain to various countries, they ship it with an American power supply! I live in Australia, so I had to buy a new power supply with an Australian plug and 240V transformer (I needn't have bothered, though, since I can't use the original pump anyway, and my replacement has its own plug).I love this little fountain now, but unmodified, I would have had to chuck it out!
