Hi, yes you would need to use a new charger every time you make a fresh batch. Once the cartridge is punctured, all of the gas enters the dispenser. These are best stored in a room temperature environment, cupboard, etc.

Q: Are these compatible with an isi soda charger?

No. These are NO2 chargers (Nitrous Oxide), used to put air into whipped cream using a whipped cream charger.Soda chargers (such as ISI) use CO2 instead of NO2 (because water will hold carbon dioxide if you shake it, but will not hold nitrous oxide).
