Absolutely awesome!
I love my Autel MX808S. The unit comes in a very nice hard plastic case that houses the unit as well as its accessories. The actual size of the unit is large enough to read things easily and small enough that you can maneuver it easily. I also like that the unit can be rested on the steering wheel so that you can do other things while working with it. The shear magnitude of what the MX808S is capable of is a must whether you own/work at a shop or you are a dedicated DIYer. I continue to learn more about what I can do with this tool every day. Updates are easy and free for 1 year, then an annual subscription fee is charged if you would like continued updates and support. Also important to note that depending on vehicle year an OEM authorization may be required to access certain functions on the vehicle side, basic code reads and some other diagnosis tools will still be available. Autel allows you to obtain these authorizations which are also fee based, but are charged by auto manufacturers not Autel. So, keep this in mind. If you run into this situation like I did, the fees aren’t outrageous and if you were using on your own vehicle it would pay for itself after diagnosing one repair. All in all, I continue to be impressed by all the functions of this unit and the only drawback to having something with this capability is the OEM authorization that may be required by manufacturers for late model vehicles. Highly recommend.

Great scanner for DIY mechanics
Really nice scanner. It does everything this DIY mechanic needs. I needed to check out an ABS issue on my 2006 Ford and my other scanner would not allow any ABS functionality. I was originally going to buy a different Autel scanner. I reached out to support (used the email in the amazon listing) with a couple of questions. They suggested that the MX808S would suit my needs better. I am glad I took their advice. The Autel MX808S allowed me to bleed the ABS module and clear the codes perfectly. Plugged it into a couple of my newer cars just to make sure it would connect and it did. Also as others have commented, the screen size is larger than I expected and easy to read, which is a plus. Wifi worked ok but I didn't really test the connection for distance. It does take a while to update when new because it loads vehicles from all over the world. Overall I am happy with the results.

Came in clutch!
Just the fact that I can view live data in real time with this scan tool helped me diagnose an issue that was only occurring as the vehicle was warming up. All would be good when vehicle was cold. All would be good when vehicle was at operating temp. Pretty hard to diagnose. But thanks to live data, I was able to discern what I needed to know. Tool works well. Fairly short boot up time. Battery charge decent. Really not a bad scanner for the price. Of course, more expensive, commercial-grade, scan tools would be able to do what I needed, but as a DIY-er, I’m glad I didn’t need to spend as much.Wireless would be nice, but can’t complain if that makes it more expensive!

MX808S unit to get, great price and unit
The MX808S is the OBDII scanner to use. Really enjoy the easy interface/screen. All the automobilies are listed and will remember the ones you use the most on the first screen. It comes with one year free updates and option to subscript for once your year is over (great option to have). Comes with all the cables and will connect to your WiFi for updates. Plus when you need to research for a an error code or search the web for assistance to troubleshoot problems. Runs on Android IOS. Great case to keep the unit safe and all the cables in one area. The additional power USB cable is included. You will not go wrong with this unit. Fix the Range Rover 2006, and Toyota 2004. Was able to release the parking brake on VW 2024 to replace the rear pads. All diag service units are included. Plus the support team is great and do reply back to the emails.

A MUST have
Works just as i thought. We have the Big one and work and this runs almost identical. Very handy, can graph, see PIDs, monitor misfire, EVAP tests, And much more. Compared to my Snap-on Solus, I must say this little scanner is my goto. Been a tech for over 20 years and this is the best bang for your 💰 IMO.
