boring me to tears
As a young girl I absolutely adored this artist, however as I tried to re-kindle my love of her now I am a yound adult the feelings were just not the same. Unfortunately a lot of the songs that were good enough to be made into music videos were few and far between. Disappointingly I was not blown away.

This album made me fall in love with Hilary - Truly amazing!
Barcode: 0094638803027Before Dignity, i had never heard anything from Hilary Duff before but by the time i had finished listening to it for the first time, i was completely won over. It is, in a word, stunning. Casting off her old pop-rock sound, Hilary established herself as a serious dance-pop artist, doing wonders on the US dance charts and Dignity became her highest charting album in the UK to date.As soon as the openning bars of Stranger kick in you know you're in for something special. Heavy guitar riffing layed over twirling eastern influenced strings and electronics, this is music to rank among today's finest pop artists - fans of Kylie and Girls Aloud will find much to love here, the rock/electro blend even harking back to such influences as Depeche Mode and Garbage. Acclaim for this album was universal, even serious music publications like the Guardian and NME praising it.Hilary's vocal performance is charming and she sounds as if she had immense fun making this record, and what's more, the songs have an added personal feel to them as she co-wrote many herself. Dignity is a prime example of this, possibly the album's finest track - it pokes fun at the current LA celeb scene launching into a uptempo stormer that remains one of my fave tunes of 2007.The single With Love, like the rest of the album is sensual, sophisticated and classy - an infectious chorus perfectly complementing the cascade of crisp beats and synth bleeps. Next tracks Danger and Gypsy Woman follow on from Stranger's eastern influences - again portraying Hilary as a mature artist, the sound along with her dark hair and new look on the album cover portraying a depth far removed from her Lizzie McGuire days of old. Entrancing pop perfection.Never Stop and Between You And Me present a lighter side to the album, a balance which is played just right, providing something to appeal to everyone. And even though Dreamer is an unashamedly obvious rip-off of Depeche Mode's Just Can't Get Enough, it is impossible to deny its charms. No Work All Play is a really interesting one, its got a dubby, gritty feel, the soundtrack to some smoky club/bar scene in a film. On the other side we have I Wish, an energetic glam rocker of a track with a nice little solo thrown in for good measure but it is Outside Of You that prooves to be the true winner of the album's second half. It's epic in it's sound as Hilary's voice at it's most heartfelt as she sings 'you're overlooking the beauty that's dying inside me'. It's a beautiful song and only adds to the vesatitlity she shows on this album. Things then finish off nicely with Play With Fire. Dignity's strength comes in its consistency, every track is a winner but together, they represent an album that is truly amazing as a whole. One of the best album's of 2007, this made me a fan of the amazing Hilary Duff and i've never looked back - highly recommended!

The lady has dignity in her voice
I bought this album a few weeks ago on download from itunes. After listening to it several times I've come to really love her voice. She has got a good voice despite the mixed reviews. My usual taste in music is rock, metal and some rock-pop artists and I'm very suprised at how good this album actually is.My favourites are "Stranger" which has an edgy quality to it. I also love the title track "Dignity" and "Burned." Overall, the track list is well chosen and her voice executes each song excellently. The tracks go from pulsating pop beats to rocked up numbers then to sugar-coated pop. The range of sounds is more than enough to keep listening interesting and I'm very pleased I bought it.Here she's clearly moved onto a more grown-up sound and it seems Hilary herself has grown up too. Nice work and I look forward to hearing more of her music in the future. The cover features Hilary in a side angled shot glowing in a haze of bronze and sunset colours. Very pretty. You get 15 songs on this album - a rarity these days!Well worth it.

No bubblegum pop!!!!!!
I have to say, being a 21 year old I was a bit worried about buying this album as I wasn't a massive fan of Hilary until she released With Love which lead me to buy this album. I expected to get a collection of blubblegum pop songs but I was so wrong!!!!!This is a fantastic album, there is not a song on it that I don't like. Far from the little girl on Lizzie M Hilary has blossomed into a woman with each track featuring catchy dance beats like those of Nelly Furtardo's Loose or Justin Timberlake's FutureSex albums!!!!What is great about the deluxe version is the DVD that comes with it. This contains all of Hilary's music videos to date and a interview with her about her career so far. Beat of my Heart, Play with Fire and With Love are particularly fantastic videos!!!!You MUST buy this album, you will not regret it!!!!!
