They are for A6 shaped things -- yes you can put an A4 sheet in it, but you'd need to fold it into quarters. It's fine, because that's what I wanted, but someone seems to have gotten very confused about what A4 is not only on the listing but on the stickers on the box!The last batch I bought was not confused about A6 and A4 -- labels were correct. And the envelopes were a smidgen larger. For me this looks nicer when you have an A6 card infront of it, because you have more of a white background behind it, but they still function the same for posting.The last batch you wouldn't have guessed largely they were recycled from the paper. This one is still largely fine, but there are the odd ones that have 'blemishes' that look more like small surface marks rather than quirks in the paper, which isn't so good for me. Quirks in paper are fine. If it's unavoidable for the manufacturing process for any blemishes to look like that if there has to be them, so be it. I'd rather recycled envelopes than not. Generally the paper is still very good -- quite thick, and the white is nice and bright.I personally haven't used the self-sealer on these yet, buy my mum didn't complain when she used them! And the last batch worked very well.To conclude, as they were before were perfect for me, as they are now they function very well, and I'd still buy them again, but they are not quite as high up there this time. So manufacturers if you are reading this, if possible please return to as they were last time!! Thank you!Yes, they come in a box -- envelopes are quite tight in them so a little tricky to get the first few out.

Found these gems. Love these envelopes they are a lot thicker and sturdier than the usual ones I have bought over the years. I am converted now, they may be a little more expensive but worth it in my opinion. I have already re-ordered!!

Brilliant envelopes but don’t be fooled, they’re not A4 even though it says so, they are the stated measurements. Thick quality paper with excellent self adhesion. Bought for Christmas cards made by the school, that didn’t come with envelopes.

These envelopes are of a lovely high gsm paper. They are a joy to write on compared to everyday envelopes for not much more cost. They are a lovely white envelope, a handy size and self seal which means you don't have to taste the yucky glue. Overall I'm delighted with them, thank you.
