Works great, very quiet, easy to use
This humidifier works very well. We use it in a bedroom and it is very effective; we can also use it in our larger living space to supplement the humidifier there, when conditions are drier. It is very easy to use, is extremely quiet (really don't hear it), and can sit on the floor or a desk/table. Great price, too!Hats off to PureGuardian. We also own a 2-gallon humidifier of theirs (which we found being discarded by a neighbor) that works perfectly. We wouldn't have known of this brand otherwise, as it never came up in our online searches.BTW no need for warm mist, in our opinion; we don't want to take any risks with elements that heat up, and we see no need for it.

Works well, good value.
Works well. It does have to be cleaned, as mold will form. But easier to clean than was my experience with the old type with the rotating blades. On the lowest setting the reservoir will last about 24 hours.

VERY pleased!
This unit is pretty EZ to refill. At first I was could not get it lined up exactly right when putting tank back on, but I discovered there is a small marker in the tank and base and if you line those ups, it goes in like a charm. I bought this for my office as the gas heat has kicked in and air is much drier. I also have a PureGuardian 2 gallon warm/cool mist humidifier and it NEVER gets mold in it & it is about 3-5 years old and have never, ever had a problem with it. I love the non-mold feature because it is impossible for mold to become airborne since it is will not grow on these units. The 1 thing about this smaller unit that puzzled me for a few days was I having to hit the "on" button several times when I wanted to turn it off. TODAY, I realized those 3 pushes on the button are actually the way to adjust the volume of mist. I did not realize this guy had 3 adjustable speeds; awesome!. I have ordered another of this exact unit for my nightstand. I have NOT had issues with water puddling with these units, ever, but I live in a high desert climate. I have had really good luck with this brand and will continue to buy ONLY PureGuardian humidifiers for the mold prevention feature & reliability. So glad Amazon carries them.Update:One of the 2 I purchased of this h940 tries to get a little bit of mold, but it is very ez to clean with Lysol wipe. Annoying but not a big deal. My 2 gallon PG humidifier that was 4-7 years old died this winter. I purchased the 1.5 PG humidifier that is a top fill (PG H1175). This is genius so you do not have to pick up 2 gallons of water with 1 hand to place container on unit; just remove the lid & fill (I used purchased gallons of distilled water). STILL luv PG humidifiers & that is why I replaced the dead 2 gallon with another PG. The 2nd H940 I purchased works great & just need a Lysol wipe about twice a season, but the positives on these units outweighs the SLIGHT mold issue I have experienced on 1 of 4 units. Would still but again.

This is extremely useful. It works well with out creating a mildew/mold problem, though it's design can be a bit weird when you try to re-attach the reservoir to the base.I live in a high altitude desert. The air is super dry and I've been getting constant dehydration headaches; not even Iraq was this bad. I've been turning on the shower every night to try to combat the dryness with very little success and to top it off that's been creating a mildew type smell; yuck. I started using this thing and it helps much more than turning on the shower. No smell well except for a slight plastic odder for the first few times I ran it. The air feels better, and even closer to the kind of air that agrees with my head rather than try to bash it into a tree once or twice a week as this high desert seems to do... not a fan of having a WWE wrestling match twice a week with dry air... not fun.The only issue I have with it is a minor design issue. There's a led light that I rarely use, it's the night light. You have to line up a small hole on the bottom of the reservoir just right or it work work, will sit cock-eyed on the base, and possibly even leak water everywhere. That's about the only issue I had with it and the reason I knocked it down a star. All in all it's still a good product. It does what it was intended to do. The look is a pleasant look. Though it could do with some ironing out with the LED lam issue. I like it and use it.

a lifesaver
This thing has been a literal LIFESAVER for me. I have year-round seasonal allergies, which in the winter time I discovered this year was made even worse by the dryness. Like, I had to wear a scarf around my face indoors and out so that I was breathing into it and the air around my face was more humid; I literally could not breathe otherwise without coughing. (And when I say coughing, I mean I will literally cough until I puke.) Within a day or two of hooking this humidifier up I could already see DRASTIC improvements. I keep it running pretty much all the time I'm in my room. I've had it for a little over two months I think at this point. I know a lot of people were complaining with how small the tank is and how frequently it needs to be refilled. I gotta say, I'm not seeing it??? As long as you fill the tank as much as physically possible -- like, fill it, let it drain into the reservoir in the base the first time you use it, fill it all the way up again -- you can get a looooot of use out of it. On setting one I've literally had it running all day without having to refill it. Setting two it lasts about 10-11 hours. Setting three lasts about six hours, I think? I don't use it too much that high tbh. I've literally never run it so long while I was sleeping that red low-tank indicator came on. Keep it next to your bed and you should be fine. The nightlight feature is nice too, although I wish it were a different color (blue light does NOT help you sleep lmao). I've yet to notice any cracks in the base like I've seen in other reviews. I clean the whole thing (the parts I can reach anyway) like every two weeks. There is absolutely no mildew buildup inside the tank either, which is awesome.
