I use the large desk pad version of this in my office, and I like it so much I take this smaller version with me in my briefcase so I still have a nice work surface while traveling. Everything from my desk pad review applies to this, too (except the comment about the sealer, which I don't think this has). So here's my review from the larger version:--This is the perfect desk pad. A simple piece of real full grain leather with soft suede backing for your desk. Rich leather smell out of the box. Thick enough to be substantial and soft, but not so thick as to be chunky. Beautiful coloring with a smooth finish and a light sealer, which provides good mouse tracking, and a little protection against liquids on your desk. Minimal, clean styling with simple rounded corners and no stitching or logos to detract from the leather's inherent character. And resilient – my kids came in and banged on it with some toys the day after I received it, and with just a little fingertip rubbing all of their marks completely disappeared.I liked my first one so much, I asked the seller to make me another in a custom size, along with some other small items, and he was very quick and attentive to all of the sizing details. I also keep the mousepad version of this in my briefcase for when I'm traveling.It actually makes me look forward to sitting down at my desk now.

As described in the title: Smooth Luxe Matte Leather Top & Suede Bottom.This genuine leather mouse pad just arrived and I’m already impressed with the quality, smoothness, size and weight of this piece. It’s firm enough where it’s not so buttery soft where it loses its shape. The top side is a matte leather (first photo rich in color), and the bottom is a soft suede (second photo lighter in shade) which DOES NOT shed. One of my peeves about cheap suede leather is that sometimes it sheds and I find that annoying.I’m using it with a wireless laser mouse, and so far, the mouse rolls over seamlessly with precision, so much better in comparison to using a mouse against a bare desk or over paper.Over time, I expect this mouse pad to absorb my natural skin oils to naturally condition this fine piece of leather. It’s a WIN for me!

Large surface for the mouse. Good quality leather, and resistant to scuff marks. A great value for the price.

We have a very nice executive desk in our den so finding a mouse pad that complimented the design was important. I also work from home quite a bit so something comfortable and big enough was also important. This is a great size and allows for ample space to move the mouse around. The material is soft yet not so smooth that your mouse flies all over the place..it has a slight abrasiveness to it which I like and allows for more precise control (I'm a graphic designer so being able to adjust just 1 pixel over on the screen without accidentally jumping 2 pixels over is important to me).

While this pad is very accurately cut and is a perfect thickness, I did not like it at all. This pad makes a lot of friction with the mouse (MX Mouse 3) and that feels 'unnatural', I hope manufacturer will make a more polished surface. Also, not sure what processing was used for the leather, but it smells like rubber...
