RØDE PSA1+ Professional Studio Arm with Spring Damping and Cable Management, Black

I read many reviews looking for comments about mounting this product on a shelf located above & in front of my workspace, but couldn't find any, so I'm providing this review as a courtesy to others looking for the same.I'm pleased to discover that this mic arm works perfectly because it stays put when you retract or extend the mic arm. I was concerned about the weight, but no issues there. The reach length is also great and easily goes downward below the shelf. When I'm not using it, I just push it upward out of the way. I like that it doesn't occupy any desk surface, and I'm not bumping into it with my elbow. Plus the mounting clamp is thick sturdy metal, not plastic.Just be sure if you do a setup like this, that your shelf is secured well to the wall studs and the shelf itself is sturdy. My mic arm is mounted approx. 3ft from where I sit and the shelf is about 2.5ft above my desk. I adjusted the distance of the mount from my desk chair to get it perfect, which is easy to do because the clamp mounting bracket is easy to move.When pushed up, the arm folds & the mic is at the same level as the shelf, and pulled down, the mic is directly in front of my mouth for speaking. I used closet shelving with basic "L" brackets from the big box hardware store for my library because it was cheaper & easier than buying furniture/bookshelves.If I need to, I can switch out the Podmic for a boom mic & it will still work nicely. Overall, the mic setup looks & works great mounted with my library, so I'm glad I spent the extra bucks for a quality product. Plus it matches my Rode Podmic! Thanks Rode. ;0)

I’m still using this arm till today. it’s better than the low profile one I had before simply for the build quality, as well as how durable, and how much weight it can hold. it holds a shure sm7b with ease, if you ever needed a recommendation this is the best one I can give. putting it together was a breeze.

Amazing build quality! They know how to build quality products that are very easy to use! Helps with sound quality so you dont have to hear the movement of the desk its sitting on. Allow for a good range of movement when placing the mic! Fits very will on most desks and surfaces! Very functional!

Perfection. I'm a podcaster and this mic boom is perfect. It's stable, it has good cable management, and it's got every function you want from a mic boom. It's exactly the right size to be stable without overtaking the area. I've been super happy with it and I think it was worth every penny of the cost to have more flexibility to adjust position to see my cohost and not have to twist 500 knobs.

Amazing build quality, super easy to setup. SHOULDVE GOT A LONG TIME AGO… I dropped my mic so many times it had dents cause my stand would always fall over… this feels so clean and even frees up space in my room now. 10/10 would buy again. even has a cover for the metal arms

The packaging was already opened and beat up. Pretty sure they sent me a used product when I purchased "new". Not sure who messed up down the line, but the unboxing was terrible. The product itself doesn't seem damaged, but I find it odd the seal was busted and the box was torn up. The Arm itself is fantastic, I've always liked Røde, and so should you.

Solid arm, love the cover on it. I chose to clamp it to my wooden desk and it did permanently leave an indent on it. It comes with a pad to protect your desk but it just doesn’t seem big enough. Not the end of the world for me but just a thought. Holds up well to my Pod Mic and I typically use it at full extension.
