I have been reading alot about planes and, I figured I would try this one out. The price seemed very reasonible, you can spend anywhere upto and over $300.00 for a plane. I only took it out of the box last night and just ran it over afew scraps of wood. I haven't been able to really set it up properly or I should say the way it is explained in various wood publications..So far it appears tobe a good tool and works pretty well i'll write alittle more when I get more experience with this plane. I have been working with wood for the last 20 years but have only gotten into pretty heavy the last two years and I have always avoided working with a plane once you get it down it should go ok

No idea what thickness and sheerness have to do with this product but it is a nice solid well made plane for the money. Haven't used it in earnest yet. I am used to the lever system for locking the cap but the thumb wheel on this plane seems to work OK and would be less likely break than a lever. I have had a lever crack the casting of the cap on one of my old Stanley planes. It would be difficult to over-tighten the thumb wheel but maybe difficult to tighten it enough. Time will tell.

Beautiful plane with wood handles and brass turning knobs. I had to straighten and shape the iron and had to flat out the bass but nothing difficult, lots of YouTube tutorials on how to do this. It's my first plane so all about learning but it makes learning easy with good tools

I purchased this to replace a 50 year old plane my father wore out. It’s not as the old models but the adjustments and blade control are still the same. The shoe is not as heavy as the older versions but still a reasonable quality for the price.

A cheap workaround that does the job but falls well short if you use a quality plane and compare; but then the price reflects this.
