X670E - great spec, great value, and looks really clean (with RGB disabled)
This is a wonderfully featured X670E motherboard for the money and has proven to be efficient, fast, and reliable - I have no problems running a PCIE 5 NVME drive and PCIE 4 graphics card from a AMD 9000 seriues CPU. The AIO is great if you don't care about USB 4 or 5gbit LAN speeds, and it has a much higher spec than more expensive B850 and X870 motherboards, which are generally overpriced and blend PCIE lanes because they carry only one chip. When the repugnant 'Prime 01' RBG is turned off it looks great too, and this board would be equally at home in a clean white or black and silver build.Boot times are not fast, and EXPO is hard to align if 4 sticks of RAM are used (I’m not now sticking with 2). These are common themes on the AM5 platform.

Great modern features, provided at a competitive price
This motherboard provides all the latest features, with no frills, at a competitive price.PCIE gen 5 is available for both the GPU and the M.2 Drives, as well as having lightening fast WIFI-7, and on board Bluetooth. Thermally, it performs very well, with some decent heatsinks, providing sufficient VRM cooling for overclocking. The only downside is that in order to hit its price point, some sacrifices are made. The board is very minimalistic in some respects, and is not the most visually pleasing. It does not come with debug LED, and the on board audio is mediocre at best.Overall though, it a great way to provide entry to future upgrades, at a competitive price.

Update the bios and download Armoury Crate.
I got this board because I wanted the 6 sata ports.Only X670 and X670-E have the extra PCIe lanes for this.3x SATA for DVD-ROM and 3.5 + 2.5 HDD hot swappable ports, and 2x SATA for some extra storage (3TB HDDs) with an extra spare.Armoury Crate is naff, but you need it to begin with, otherwise you're gonna get really confused as to why you can't get the WiFi to work.So make sure to use Armoury Crate to update all your drivers then:UPDATE YOUR BIOS!The bios you're looking for on the Asus website MUST be for the "WIFI" version (there's a non-wifi version)I believe the file name should end up as "PX670PW.CAP"I did it wrong to begin with (with the non-wifi bios) but it didn't brick the motherboard thank goodness.I think it's because all the different bios' have different checksums - so it knew I was doing it wrong and wouldn't continue to prevent me breaking it.After you've successfully updated the bios, make sure to use Armoury Crate again to update/install your WiFi (and other) drivers again.UPDATE:Over a year in use now. I've added an NVMe SSD, the Kingston KC3000 (gen4 7000MBs/7000MBs read/write) I thought about getting PCIe 5.0 (gen5) but honestly what's the point right now, it's so expensive compared to gen4 and am I really going to notice the difference of anything over 7000 MB/s?(7 Gigabytes a second!! That's insane already!)I put a fresh install of Windows 11 the new SSD and it's incredibly speedy.Windows go BRRRRRRRR!!!! hahaI've had no problems with this board, I'm very much looking forward to putting in a Zen 5 or Zen 6 processor into it in the future, probably an X3D chip.EXPO worked immediately with my 6000 MT/s RAM.WiFi has been perfect, Bluetooth also fantastic (several BT devices at the same time and no issues)Will update again in 2025 when I put a new chip (CPU) in it!

Don't buy from here
Great mobo, but don't buy from here. Received a used one with missing bags of screws that didn't work once i built (no wonder it was previously returned). Bought a new one from Asus directly for slightly more and it works fine.

DDR5 requires an update to the Bios
Chasing my tail for hours as I thought a new board would come with an up to date bios, it doesn't so make sure you update the bios via USB stick. Tbh the bios menu is pretty awful too, works now but I'd definitely buy from a different company next time. I have an Asus gaming pc which I find great, so maybe just this board. It is a cheap Am5 board so probably that too. If you're having issues drop me a msg, might be able to help.
