The Tea Makers of London Ceylon Lover's Leap Estate Black Loose Leaf Tea 125 g Caddy Single Origin

I love Ceylon tea normally, so the 5 star reviews and the description as a light and delicate black tea had me excitedly waiting for the courier.Unfortunately, I was heartily disappointed. It has a lovely bouquet but has the bitterness of green tea. The leaves are very green so that may be part of it, as I can only stand green tea with mint or lemon. On the upside, it is tolerable with a slice of lemon and is probably rich in anti-oxidants.To provide some context, I've got Adam's Peak and Maskeliya Pekoe which are both Ceylon black teas from the same suppliers. The taste of both of them send me straight back to different places I visited in Sri Lanka. If you can stomach the cost, the Adam's Peak blend is worth the extra and is the closest to the luxuriant taste of Ceylon I've found!

Tea taste is just that: a matter of taste. But of all the teas I have tried in the last year (which is many - I love tea), this is easily among the top three. It's satisfying without being overwhelming and has a nice subtle mix of indefinable flavours that makes one think in the right mood at it is the right tea to take to that desert island.
