Hon&Guan 4 Inch Inline Booster Duct Fan with Speed Controller - 130 CFM Airflow with 6W Ultra-Low Power and Low Noise

I tried another auxiliary single-speed duct add-on brand from Menard's that did not provide a respectable increase in flow. Unlike the other model, this variable-speed blower fan is more powerful, allowing me to set it at 50% with better airflow. The unit is a bit smaller in outer diameter (OD) than the inner diameter (ID) of my new 6-inch duct section, so I sealed the gap with a thick, metallic duct tape.All of these duct blowers add noise to the home, same as a window AC unit would. Expect to hear it. The duct fan sound does travel through the ductwork. I operate it only when it is needed to cool the room. I use a wi-fi power plug (and phone App) to power the blower on/off --- so I don't have to travel to the basement to deactivate it.

Easy to install. Works great. I set it up at 50% speed. It’s Quiet. i installed it for my master bedroom which was 4 degrees warmer than other areas. I just added a pressure air sensor to the distribution box so turns on when AC comes on so it is not on 24/7. Then run a cord to the booster fan. I recommend it.

Great inline fan. The power cord for some reason keeps coming loose n falls out. Tap the joints together. Its not the best, its okay.

Way better than I expected. It is stronger than my 195cfm VIVOSUN. I bought them at the same time and returned the VIVOSUN brand because it was weaker and more expensive. I was impressed.

This little fan will move some air.I needed an exhaust fan for welding inside my garage, and this fan is doing what i need it to do.

I have purchased about 8 of these fans over the last 18 months or so, I use them for a variety of applications around the house, especially for circulating air relating to our woodstove, which is our primary heat source.Overall, they are awesome. They are easy to use, reasonably quiet, and very light weight considering how much air they can move. My issue is, of the 8 I've bought 2 of them (25%, 1/4) have had the bearing(s) go bad within a few weeks of use. For both, I noticed they had a slightly different tone/pitch when running when first installed. Over time, this pitch became noticeable and eventually obvious and irritating. Operation of the fans never failed as I removed them fairly soon after the pitch became obvious and irritating. Given the application I use them for, I both didn't want to have to listen to them and couldn't risk a potential fire should the motor lock up while I'm out of the house.The other 6 fans have been phenomenal, and I plan to give them another shot and buy a few more. I do hope quality control deals with the bearing issue. If not, am going to need to find a different manufacturer (which would be a shame, because these really do have a lot that is desirable about them).I only left a one start rating so it would get more attention. In reality I would have left a 3 star review, but nobody, including myself, usually reads those ratings.
