Great value

Great sights. I have them on all of my staplers. They hold zero and work great.

Works well and Great Customer Support - See below

I bought this Reflex sight for a Hi Point 995 9mm Carbine. The iron sights worked great, but I had previously purchased a magnified optic for longer ranges, because my eyes are not good past about 15 yards, and thought that even a non-magnified red dot/reflex/holo type sight would be a good replacement for the irons at short to medium ranges. As I mentioned in my review of the CVLIFE 3-9x40 scope, I had no desire to buy a very high priced optic for a very low priced firearm, so this fit the bill perfectly. I put the RS-38 on my carbine, dialed it in fairly close with a Laser boresighter, then test fired to get the point of impact right. The attached image shows the results freehand at 15 yards on a subsequent range trip after zeroing, indicating it held the zero previously set. Some flyers which are totally my fault. During the range trip, I noticed that the GREEN reticle was nowhere near as bright as the Red reticle. I posted a question and found that they should both be similarly bright. I contacted Feyachi Customer support, and they quickly sent me a new unit!! On this one, the Green and Red Reticles were equally bright. Just took it to the range today and sighted it in. Need to tweak it a bit, but looks like it is similarly accurate. I used the Green Reticle to sight it in this time because I could! No image for this, but trust me :). Now I can say that both Red and Green reticles work fine and brightness is adjustable. All the different reticle types work well in both colors. So far, holds a zero. As there is not that much recoil on a 9mm Carbine, I cannot say if it will hold up to a rifle firing a more powerful round, but for me it was a great purchase.

SImple, sturdy, reliable -- and with a quick on/off feature!

Many of us have heard the expression “You get what you pay for.” Getting what you pay for can be true, as can: sometimes you get less than you pay for, sometimes you get more. Each of these sites are the latter. My first portion for testing this sight was by mounting it to a tactical 12 gauge shotgun; this will give the jolts and high recoil impact that I am looking for. Sights often can be loose or loosened by recoil – and a sight negatively impacted by this can be damaging to targeting. After mounting I fired 100 rounds; approximately 50 slugs and 50 buck shot shells. The recoil is pretty heavy; slugs were done first so targeting could be zeroed in; the last ten were also slugs to see if accuracy stayed. Keep in mind, these are shotgun loads so I did not get into tight MOA; it was merely to test whether or not the dots drifted greatly on the sight. The second portion of the test was to mount these to a target .22LR pistol (50’ targeting). This allowed me to fine tune and really see if the sight was adequate. I am not an expert in shooting, but in my semi-capable hands, the sights performed well. Approximately 150 shots were put downrange in this portion. On first view, I wondered what the point of the 45-degree mount rail was: my first assumption was it fit under the sight, but additionally I saw it was also an extra component to use elsewhere on the Picatinny system. The 45-degree allows another component, like a flashlight or laser to be mounted, or it can mount this sight so a scope on top allows downrange rifle shooting while the reflex sight is put in action by turning the rifle 45-degrees. It is a good benefit, but when a bright flashlight is mounted too close it may wash out the reticle in the sight itself. Be wary and test. Overall, though, the system mounted well, took the recoil and remained true to settings. One thing I did notice when mounted to the pistol: holding the pistol at a distance caused the reticle to blur and become large. In fairness, this system is probably designed for a rifle/shotgun setup so the reticle would be closer to the eye than an extended arm pistol. When the pistol was fired in a combat style, the reticle was perfect. The ability to adjust size, color, and shape was also a nice touch and allows for personal preference of the shooter. Changing colors, sizing, and reticle types was super easy and the field of view was excellent – especially when mounted to a tactical shotgun. This is definitely a worthwhile investment. The quality of this sight is well-above the price paid. The components were pretty solid for this price point, too. At first, I was worried about the mount screw as some of these components might be "cheap". Once I realized this was a trustworthy mount I attempted to over-tighten and see if I could snap the screw head off, as I had done on my last sight. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find out this could not be easily done!Definitely a worthwhile investment.

Not suitable for serious shooting

It's a no brainer that a ~$30 optic isn't suitable for competitive shooting but I want to at least go over the reasons why. I put this on my Ruger 10/22 carbine I'm outfitting to do competition shooting, stock .920 barrel, bolt, etc. I am a gunsmith and precision shooter so I have a properly leveled and aligned pic rail with a bubble level (check out monstrum) and I get good groupings. With this red dot, it has A LOT of parallax so your point of aim will vary wildly from point of impact if you're any less than perfectly aligned with the recital, if you adjust your head even a slight bit, you're not looking at point of impact. NOW, let's say you're putting this on a fun little plinker .22, a cheap AR for your friends to shoot if they don't have their own weapons when you go out together, an airsoft gun, etc, I absolutely WOULD recommend this optic. Great value for money. Your typical aim point, EOtech, holosun, SIG Sauer, monstrum, vortex, etc optics are a lot more expensive for a reason, their for a much more serious and dangerous applications, like comp shooting or combat where shot placement is 100% the goal. I'm a serious shooter who wanted to try this out for fun. I'll keep it, maybe put it on a 45° canted rail, or my airsoft weapons or a buddies cheap rifle. It's good value for the money, but the green emitter could stand to be a big brighter :)

Stopped working

I was excited to get this right up until I turned it on. The red dot was crazy blurry, but I gave it the warm up time the company suggests, because we all know we always have time for that right?, but even after said time it was still horribly blurry. I decided to go ahead and take it with me anyway and see what I could do with it at close range. Got out to the range and got ready and… no dot at all, I changed the battery just in case it was an issue with the original battery being dead. Nope, no dice, no dot, no nothing. It was dead before the first shot so I can’t say if it holds zero, how it does for battery life, or how well it adjusts for zeroing. All in all I had high hopes from what I’d read but don’t waste your money, the price is enticing but the product was useless
