15 to 20 min repair and anyone can do it!
Received these today, 16/08/2020 to attempt to replace a fractured/partially shattered tent pole (second pole in) from a recent camping trip and it did the trick. Tip - Pull as much of the original elastic through as you can so it is slack, so fit it all sections together and clip the elastic past the pole you need to replace, so it doesn't pull back through. Tweezers did the trick of grabbing the outside knot to pull out the elastic from the metal tube end. Untie the knot and feed off the poles back to and including the shattered pole - 2 in my case. Cut the replacement pole to the exact length and go east on the hack saw to reduce potential damage to the new fibreglass pole. Smooth off the end with fine grade sand paper to ensure it is flat and round off the edge. I actually used a solid knife sharpening block for this and the finish is perfect. Feed elastic back through new pole and any others. I didn't need a threader, just twisted the poles as I went and threaded through just fine. Tie the knot in the same place and ease off the clip holding the elastic and you're done. This whole process took me no more than 20 minutes, and I have a whole lot of spares to take with me, inc the supplied elastic, should another section go on my next trip.

this item as nothing to thread the elastic through the poles
read the reviews and product does seem good quality ,put it to the test shortly , however very difficult to get elastic cord through poles , had to get some 1mm stiff wire and cut 200mm longer than the pole your threading for a hand hold , next take elastic cord and put 2 knots in 1 end , take other end bend over to form a loop of 1 inch and super glue the elastic to each other hold till it sets loop now formed , take 1mm wire bend it to form a 5 mm loop and hook elastic loop inside and pinch with pliers to hold cord loop , next feed the wire with loop into the pole and down the pole to metal end and pull it till elastic cord comes out and repeat with another pole once your through all the poles take elastic cord off the wire pull cord reasonably taut and tie a knot in it , next small bit super glue on pole and push the 2 metal end caps on each end to stop them dropping off when in use .....job done hope this helps as i tried for 30 mins before doing the above real easy this way ... knocked 1 star off for this reason

Reasonable but shock cord is way too short
The poles were bought to be used as a support for a flag to be carried. They are reasonably good but the shock cord that comes with the nine pole version is way to short to fit through them all.

Good as a fix or complete replacement for tent
This was purchased as a complete replacement for my tent as I misplaced mine. I was concerned as I read some users had difficultly threading the ecstatic thread through the fibreglass pipes but I found it was actually very easy to do. Poles did not snap when putting up the tent. You add or Subject as many poles as you need.

Replace the elastic rope.
4 stars only because of elastic bungee rope.Replace it straight away! This thing won’t last 2 set ups. It broke on me on first set up.Poles are great. Will withstand great pressure. Due to lack of original pole ive used this as replacement for my tent. It was 24 cm longer then original but tent and poles dealt with it extremely well (in quite windy conditions ).Good product and would’ve been 5 stars if not the rope.

Double check the ends that you need before you order.
We made it work with plyers, it had the wrong ends, instead of tubes it has a loop.
