A New Makeover Led to a Downgrade in Quality
I am not sure why they changed the formula for this particular product, but it led to a reduction in its quality. It still works, but it doesn't hold as well as the old Matte version. The updated version is also greasier, as others have said. I don't think I will be purchasing another of these after trying out the new version, which is a shame because I loved the older one.

Old version is better
It seems that they are going to discontinue the old version slowly. The old one has a better hold for my type of hair (thicker hair).

This newer one doesn't hold as well and my hair feels greasy after using this.

Old product is better
I was happy to finally see them repackage this product since the old container was terrible to use. Unfortunately with the new packaging comes a different “formula”. New version does not hold nearly as well as the previous version, and feels greasy.
