Good for short term, when it was inexpensive
I bought this unit a little over a year and half ago. For the first year, it was an amazing training tool and the settings were fantastic. My guy doesn't do well with the sound alert, but the vibration (on max) seemed to work well and I only used the shock portion a few times to tie to the vibration calls. WARNING! Test the shock on yourself before trying it on your poochie. The settings for shock are ridiculous. 1 is the lowest shock and it went up to 99. On level 3 setting, I came off the ground while testing it before putting it on him. I couldn't frickin imagine what level 99 would do to me or a dog!!!!! Level 1 was nothing to him so I left it on level 2 and he knew what that meant real quick.Anyways, great training aid until about a year old, sporadic use for training needs, the collar battery would not take a charge or mate with the remote anymore. I tried all the tricks. Back when I bought this, it was $58 and I considered it a disposable training aid. Now, it is $80, I won't buy again at this price range. However, looking at more of them online, you can get is same one for $30. I will buy it again at that price. I thought about buying another with replaceable/serviceable batteries for longevity, but I don't think that is an option for any under $100...…..

Doesnt Last Long
This was great at first.. worked as indicated so I would luv to give it a better review. It stopped working after 6 or 7 months. The company was fantastic to work with and sent me a replacement. The remote worked but would no longer vibrate, give tone or shock. The new one came and we were back in business. Here we are another 6ish months down the road and the replacement will no longer shock. So while it is great while it works...it doesn't last long. I do give the company 5 stars for how great they handled the original situation..I am not contacting them again. Will just go buy a different brand.

Use with common sense and love AFTER you try it on yourself!
Had it seems like forever now, little 12lb mix uses the vibrate feature or the beep (4-5x/yr). Only once zap at a low setting that he didn’t respond to, turned up to 3 zap again and he came to me with a WTH look. Luckily you will find almost all dogs will respond to the vibration and beep the same a buzz so it just seems more loving not to use it unless their life is in danger. (You can touch the electrodes and feel the levels, they range from tickle to OUCH, you can avoid accidentally shocking your fur baby by removing the probs or using the short probs provided)

This saved our dog
Don't let people tell you that you should never use negative reinforcement. I had a puppy that was very stubborn and did not learn quickly. She ran around outside chasing people up and down the street. Even a professional training said this particular dog was the most stubborn she'd ever worked with. She came home from this trainer, and immediately started misbehaving as if she'd never gone. I bought this item, and it literally prevented the dog from being re-homed. The days I don't have the collar on, she regresses to her former self.

It's ok but didn't last long
So it only lasted 6 months then for whatever reason it stopped charging. The cute gold plastic piece fell out two months in other wise it worked great. We used the beep and vibration modes to guide our dog and only once used the shocker when she was trying to fight with the neighbors tiny dog throught the fence. She never did it again at least.

Beep and vibration work fine but shock doesn’t work at all.
We have 3 dogs, each having the same collar. Our Labrador is very stubborn so the times we’ve needed the shock for her it hasn’t worked. I took it off her today to try to figure out what’s wrong, moved it to 16 shock level and it’s not doing a thing. I can touch it with no effect. Not sure if it’s defective or what. Very frustrating. I’ve contacted company but haven’t had any luck with a refund on hers. The other 2 dogs are complacent so the beep and vibration work fine for them.

Efficient useful remote collar
Appreciate the different settings. I have a Treeing Walker hound, so they can be quite stubborn. After a couple of zaps on a light setting, all I have to do is use the beep warning, and she immediately stops what she's doing and comes to heel. Battery lasts quite a long time, and the prongs don't seem to bother her. Makes me feel much better that I can correct her when she tries to take off and Chase cars coming out of our driveway.

Plastic housing broke after very little use
I bought this collar 2 years ago, and used it maybe 3 times before putting it in storage. I pulled it out today to find the plastic where the collar attaches to the actual unit is cracked and about ready to break off if I add any pressure to it. Now I can't use it and have to order a new one.
