I’ve been using La Roche-Posay Effaclar Gel Cleanser for several weeks now, and I genuinely feel it’s one of the best balanced cleansers I’ve tried for acne-prone skin. It lathers into a light foam and leaves my face feeling clean but never tight or overly dry. That alone is a big win for me—so many acne treatments strip my skin, but this one feels supportive rather than harsh.The 2% salicylic acid works well over time. It didn’t clear everything overnight, but with consistent use, I saw fewer breakouts and less oil throughout the day. It also helped reduce the look of some clogged pores on my forehead and chin. The added LHA and glycerin make a noticeable difference in how smooth and calm my skin feels after washing.If you’re looking for a cleanser that’s not overly harsh but still delivers results, I would absolutely recommend giving this a try. It might take a little patience, but it’s been a game-changer in my routine. Stick with it—it’s worth it.

This is an excellent face wash for my oily, annoying skin. It leaves me feeling so clean & fresh. There's a slight tingle. Its my daily go-to, and I've been buying/using it for a pretty long time. The salicylic acid serum by this same brand is very effective when my skin feels extra problematic. The oil control moisturizer...I think there are better products. Murad has a great oil control moisturizer that I would recommend. All the other products that I've tried from this brand have been top notch. Including the lip balm.

I highly recommend this face wash to those adult females with stubborn acne. It is the only skin care product I use in the shower. It did not leave my skin dry or oily. I really enjoy the quality of this product and have recommended it to all of my family and friends!

My skin is currently oily/acne prone/textured/sensitive/and I also have rosacea. I was recommended this face wash by my dermatologist. I purged/broke out for about a week and a half, but then my skin cleared up. It never irritated my skin. It also didn't suck the life out it. It was nice and gentle, and non stripping. Perfect coming cleanser for oily skin types. I do like this cleanser a lot except that it has menthol in it for a "cooling" effect. I really wish that wasn't in the ingredients, but I guess it didn't irritate my sensitive skin. It has the potential to be irritating to skin. I also wish that it came in a pump bottle instead of a squeeze tube. But that's just me nitpicking. Also, keep away from the eyes at all cost.TLDR;It's a good cleanser if you are oily and acne prone. Didn't irritate my sensitive rosacea skin. Might cause purging. Has menthol in it.

I have TERRIBLE hormonal acne around my chin and neck and this product have cleared it up within weeks! I also have oily skin and this product have reduced the oil without making my skin dry! The product does have some foam consistency but it’s not over powering!
