Range Master plus!

This pedal is intended to capture the infamous Range Master treble boost sound and does it well. It has a dirt knob to add some additional grit to the circuit. It's a great sounding no compromise pedal at an excellent price. I have an actual Range Master and I can tell you this circuit is much quieter when it comes to background noise. It works well with gain and other pedals. If something ever happened to it, I would replace without hesitation. I really like it.

Best Boost Pedal out there!

I was actually Amazed at how good this Salem Boost pedal sounds. I ordered a second one as a backup it is that good. But it is NOT a distortion pedal. You dial it in to make the pedal next to it sound good. I do not use it alone. The best Boost pedal made is the Digitech Red Special on the #7 Deacy setting. With this pedal as an A/B I can get damn close. Before this I usedan '82 Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer, but this pedal puts that one to shame. If you try to set it to sound good on it's own, your defeating the purpose of a Boost pedal. But I will say this sounds very close to my 1966 Fuzz Face. None of the Fuzz Face reissue or clones sound anything like the original, but this gets really close. The original Fuzz Face doe not distort that much, but when you turn your Marshall stacks up to 11and stick a Fuzz Face in front, like Hendrix did, well you can sound exactly like Jimi. I don't do that, but in front of my processor on the VOX 30 patch, it sounds great.

Nice pedal, see

I personally don’t hear a ton of difference between the OD and the fuzz settings, which is why I rated it 4 stars. But I’m a newbie to electric guitar so what do I know. I do know this pedal sounds pretty cool and works as advertised. Is perfect for me, has grit but not too much dirt. I like the tone a lot.

Nice sounding, but not worth the trouble

The sounds in this boost are good. The quality of the design though is poor. Mine makes high-pitched squealing noises with almost every power supply I own regardless of quality. The jacks are super flimsy and cables seem to spontaneously pop out of them. It also demonstrates ground hum when bypassed. I will keep it as a project pedal and see if I can do anything to quiet it down but for most people I think this pedal isn't worth the trouble.

The boost i have been searching for.

Tried many boost types. EP Boost, RC Boost, Clean Boost, SSS, Low gain overdrives. Searching for that special flavor for an always on type of boost. Not too much dirt. Not to clean. Not overly tone altering. Needs to add some spice without destroying the low end. Boxes checked with this boost.Improves sound of pretty much all my drives and the channels of my Marshall DSL40CR.

Surprisingly versatile

Surprisingly good for the price, the range and dirt knobs really add a lot of versatility. It’s a bit noisy but I imagine that’s what you’re going for with a pedal like this anyways

NOT A TREBLE BOOSTER!!

After many years of storage I decided to dust off my Vox AC30. My vintage treble boosters had become too valuable to take out, so I sought a cheaper alternative. Having had pretty good luck with a couple other cheap chinese clone effects I rolled the dice on this one. Came up snake eyes.IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A TRADITIONAL RANGEMASTER TYPE TREBLE BOOST, LOOK ELSEWHERE.It doesn't boost treble, it just cuts bass. Thin, raspy, and totally useless. Tried it for a week with different amps and guitars and couldn't coax a good sound from it.
