The author's story for creating this deck

This deck's birth story is so beautiful. The author states that she is not of eastern origin and so I didn't go into this expecting completely traditional stories of the Eastern spirituality depiction of the kitsune. She does however state her view of these ancient spirits and other creatures within the deck as ascended masters of sorts stemming from Lemuria and Atlantis. There is information coming about concerning these places, but none are really proven fact. In my case I've explored much about these two places, especially after Dolores Cannon's books, and some other authors and artists who explore Earth mysteries. Whatever you choose to believe, this would make certain spirits much older than you think, therefore outside of the bounds of today's known cultures. In that case, I appreciate the messages channeled to the reader through this deck, whether you choose to use the book or not. Make sure to give the intro a good read, and look up things you are unfamiliar with. I fell in love with main beings depicted in the deck, such as the dragons, as well as the reasoning for the creatures chosen, and the research it took to share a project like this. How you choose to utilize this deck is up to you, hope this helps someone!

Great Grandma Fox approved!

The art is amazing. The messages are equally amazing. I've had the deck for almost a month and I have found it very helpful. It really resonates with me and my love for the fox spirits (and Great Grandma Fox - who was such an amazing woman). The cards are large, and glossy. It's not the easiest to shuffle, but I will just shuffle once or twice and then side shuffle from there and wait for the message(s) I am meant to hear/see pop out when they're ready. Keep your intention clear and keep it in mind that you are working for the highest good <3

Gorgeous deck with the unfortunate stench of cultural appropriation all over it

Bought this for my girlfriend as she is obsessed with kitsune and was curious about oracle cards versus tarot cards. She was very pleased by the art and the cards themselves (note that the deck is not only kitsune, but a lot of western fantasy creatures as well). When she started to read the included book is when her opinion started to sink. Below is her own opinions of it.This book absolutely stinks of a white woman who had a vague idea of what kitsune are in mythology but then chose to write her own stories about it. I know spiritual books are often full of over-exaggerated events and stories but the absolute and utter disregard for the myths of Japan this author shows is frankly disgusting. She shapes the idea of Inari and kitsune to serve her own purposes, trying to factually tie them back to things like Atlantis and calling them ~keepers of holy fire~. It is clear she has never truly read or listened to a single tale about kitsune. She then claims to have been taught by them, which is again something I would normally just write off as a quirk of reading a book about mystical things. But I simply can't ignore just how much this entire thing reads like some colonist come to teach the barbaric people about their own culture and ways.If you ever needed a text book example of what cultural appropriation looks like in terms of mythology? Look no further. If you think I'm over reacting (which granted, I'm much more angry than I should be because stories of kitsune are my favorite myths) imagine for a moment someone coming up to you and trying to tell you "I know the tooth fairy and actually she's descended from a long line of witches and she told me she was gonna teach me her magic." And make zero mention of teeth or the collection thereof. It's a silly example, but the utter disregard for the back story of creatures from another culture is my point here.If you actually like kitsune, or literally know anything about them at all. Do yourself a favor and don't bother to read the included book here. Enjoy Meredith Dillman's lovely art and ignore whatever 12yo-in-a-Hot Topic-Pentagram-T-Shirt bullshit Cavendish is trying to spin.

Lovely!

This is by far the largest cards I own! They fit over my whole hand!! The artwork is gorgeous and the messages are wonderful. It's better than just hearing, "Wonderful news is coming your way!" It goes deeper than that. It touches parts of my soul I've kept hidden. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful Cards!

This is a lush, feminine deck. The artwork is delicate and beautiful. The card stock is typical, sticky, glossy but the art makes up for it. This deck only has one obviously male character, and there isn't a huge diversity in skin tones either, so if you want balance and diversity, it isn't the deck you are looking for. But I have been drawn to Inari and have wanted to learn more about the legend and lore around her and this deck is wonderful for that. It has a gentle energy that compliments the art perfectly.

Durability may be an issue

Beautiful deck accompanied by a nice book. The card stock and pages of the book were thinner than expected. The books pages are like newspaper or thinner. I am concerned about durability. Artwork is stunning. And explanations are beautifully written.
