OMG This is better than expected. It doesn't have 5 LEDs it's got 10. 5 for the flashlight part and 5 dispersed through-out the cone. It's also got a multi function switch, not just an on/off. 1st push, red LEDs in the wand come on steady. 2nd push red wand flashes. 3rd push wand and clear flashlight come on steady. 4th push red lights off and white flashlight flashes. 5th push all off.Product description is wong. It takes 3 C cell batteries NOT 2 D cell. Manufacturer description says 6 LEDs and Product description says 5. Both wrong.I also bought the Signal Wand metal stand so it looks like a good combination.

I purchased this for directing traffic with an auxiliary police organization. The wand is well-enough built for normal use, though it is only plastic and will not stand up to much abuse. (I looked all over for an aluminum body wand, but could not find one.) The knurled grip makes holding the handle easy even when wet or wearing gloves. The light is bright enough to be seen from quite a distance, even at dusk. The three C batteries makes the wand comfortably stable without being overly heavy. The push-button switch is located, and large enough, so that it is easily accessible but will not accidentally be activated. I would recommend this to a friend.

I was very disappointed with this product's lack of durability. It is all plastic construction. The features it has are pretty cool, there are several modes available which would come in handy if this thing could survive being inside a police car. On my first day of having it, a metal ticket book slid (during a corner) and bumped the wand right on top. For some reason this caused the wand to malfunction and the white LED light came on. I could not get it to go off. The switch did nothing, not pushing it, not holding it. This rendered all other features of the wand useless. The only way to get rid of the white LED light was to unscrew the battery compartment and remove power from the device. Suffice to say that once it became obvious that this small bump effectively broke this wand 3 hours into its first shift, I would say save your money and buy a $7.00 plastic cone to put on your MagLite when you need to direct traffic.

I purchased these for our Church parking lot crew. They were a hit! Very Bright, excellent flashing feature. This one also has the clear flashlight at the tip which is excellent for getting peoples attention. I felt they were plenty sturdy. I will be purchasing 2 more of these lights in the coming weeks.

I ordered this light and it was slightly disappointed with it. It seems to be cheaply made (but for the price, its what you want, you are paying for the quality you get) The 12" wand is probably great for directing 747s around an airport, but is excessive and hard to manage if you are just directing traffic (a 4"-6" wand would be better for cars).ended up returning the 2 I bought before I ever used them because the length was just ridiculously long for directing cars. A shorter wand with a thinner and rechargeable battery pack would be better for directing cars. (this light has a handle that hold 3 C cell batteries) The white LED tip is a great idea because you can point it at a driver to get their attention or use the white light to point at an object or direction.

i purchased this flashlight so I would be visible when I walk my pooch around the block at night. The total walk time around the block is about 20 minutes. The flashlight/wand would be illuminated about 5 minutes give or take a minute on each evening walk.After using it for 10 walks or so it died (the flashlight not pooch).I wouldn't recommend purchasing this flashlight. It won't last and it could put you in an uncomfortable situation as me and pooch found out when we were left to walk in the dark.

I'm a volunteer for my Village. I'm often tasked with traffic control. This is essential in those duties. It's bright, the multi-functions all for visibility to ALL drivers (ya know..those "special drivers") and even in a torrential downpour. Batteries last a long time too!I won't lie, I've pretended to be a Traffic Jedi with this thing. Sounds and all.
