Q: I have model f06 light and model f 116 recharger. Unit will not charge. Had for 3 years. Do ion batteries need replacement

Not for a regular homeowner, otherwise by a handy Technician, yes, BUT, the batteries in this unit are soldered in and as well the batteries themselves are (4x parallel) inside of a shrink wrap covering, AND each battery are spot welded to each other via thin sharp plates, which those sharp edges are razor thin all around and when handling Easily will cut into the wires running through it causing short circuit, thus, in that, danger. A professional tech could change out these batters using the necessary precaution, but as mentioned, needs spot welding techniques, or can be re-engineered to use a 4x parallel case using flat tops, etc... A good tech that's handy will have many options here, but a regular homeowner ...No! These batteries that come with the unit, if! they were brand new to begin with, should last many years, the question is are these brand new when you open the shrink wrap on yours? ...you decide! however mine were definitely not, and mixed! mAh values as well :(

RUBBISH

Absolute rubbish , for want of a better word , failed to charge . Plugged it in useing the supplied power lead , a puff of smoke and will not work , assigned to the bin

A brilliant torch

This 'searchlight' style torch delivers a good strong beam and appears to be very robust. Note that it comes with an American-style 2-pin plug/transformer charger so a plug adapter for use in the UK is required.
