This augur drill bit worked great when my husband and I planted grass plugs. It went through packed dirt with no problem and made clean, uniform holes. It was easy to control the depth, and it stayed securely attached to the drill. It did stop when it hit thick roots, but that was expected. It was so much faster and easier than digging with a shovel and made short work of planting more than a hundred grass plugs.

It's a fantastic, cheap, easy auger drill that is just the right size for planting seedlings. Installed in drill, drilled holes in dirt, dropped in plants and away we go. It's meant for dirt, don't expect more than it is.

For the price, does the job, will wedge between rocks, set clutch accordingly and back out or it will bust the welds. Just don't get real aggressive and it's fine. He-manning it ain't gonna move buried rocks, get the bar. Then he-nan.

This product is fantastic for planting bulbs or even gardening. It is durabile and the amount of time saved vs shovel is unspeakable, it is as simple of wiping it off to clean and if you want an easier way to use then stick in a bucket of water and dill away. It basically would fit in any drill and you can make depth with a piece of tape on the shaft if you want to plant more shallow, I used electrical tape and it help up well. Good value for the money. It is very easy to install and use as its very basic. The only downfall or negative I can think of is that if there is a weed barrier paper it gets caught up, bundled up, etc. But not necessarily a specific problem with this product itself but using a drill but like this wont be worth it.

Needed to make some holes around some trees to fertilize and this worked great! Even on the Alabama clay lol! Saved us a lot of time.

Excellent! Exactly what I needed to loosen up rocky dirt to put posts in the ground. I couldn't break through it with the shovel. I've ended up using it to plant flowers, throw down seeds and mix in the dirt, and put posts for fence in the dirt. Be careful though, if it gets caught on a rock or stuck, it'll about rip your arm off. Always have a good grip and stance in case this happens. I'm a 32 yr old woman and used this very easily.
