Nothing compares in price/range
First want to address some of the negatives I see on reviews.1- The weight, I really don't get it, the weight of the lens is available under the specs, so to complain about a known aspect is odd, it is actually lighter to most if not all, close alternative.2- Dust, one of the 1-star reviews in Amazon, is about dust in a lens purchased in used in eBay, not sure how that makes sense.First thing I did was to inspect the lens for dust under bright LED, mine is pristine.Hopefully it will remain clean being is weather sealed. So not an issue.Focus is fast and precise, focus tracking is also excellent, hit rate is above my expectations.I will only mention, outside of what has been said in reviews here and other places,This lens is very unique, nothing compares when it comes to weight and size as it pertains to the range.Specially if you use APSCThe value is excellent.

Very good lens
Excellent lens, not as bulky as Sony lense yet delivering great definition and sharpness, and all in all not as expensive as other brands,

Amazing budget lens without the budget quality!
As the title says, this lens is high quality at a fantastic price for what it offers. I've used this to take photos of the moon, the sun, and various pets/wildlife. Tracks VERY well for a 3rd party lens when connected to my Sony a7R V.Pros: Very sharp, generous focal range, compact due to external zooming, stabilization is extremely helpful zoomed all the way in, 82mm filter size, PRICE!Cons: f/6.7 at 500mm can get tricky when lighting conditions dim, quite heavy and the balance on a Sony camera with no battery grip is super front loaded, no teleconverter support or use, external zooms can build up dust and dirt inside the lens over time.If you're looking for a lens for wildlife or just a great telephoto zoom lens, this is easily a fantastic choice. I had a hard decision between this and the Sony 200-600mm lens, and I'm glad I went with the Tamron for the compact size/length over the fully extended internal zoom build of the Sony.

Great lens for the price, hard to beat other features like Tamron's 6 year warranty
So far so good, I bought this during the recent Prime day sale, but want to run it through a few paces with my dog (she's the one with the red harness) at the local dog park before making a full review.Only thing I couldn't quite try, was more action shots, but there wasn't anyone else there this morning throwing toys to their dogs. While I typically buy used, in this case between the sale and Tamron's good warranty period vs Sony or Sigma, it swung me towards this, as sample variation is a thing, and worse case, send it in to Tamron for adjustment.Fortunately, this seems like a sharp copy and I don't see the need to send it in for tweaking. First two attachments are at 500 mm, 3rd is at 150 mm, shutter priority on a a7III.Only cons, and it's somewhat unavoidable, is that longer telephotos are a bit heavy, at about 4 pounds for this lens, and between the camera, lens, and battery grip not quite 6.5 pounds. Ideally, use a tripod, but that's not always practical.

This is a heavy lens
I waited to write this review untilI had the opportunity to try out the lens. This lens is a great lens. For the price… I think It works as well as the Sony that I originally bought for my Sony camera. There are so many choices out there. This lens is easy to use..It focuses fast and the stabilizer works well. I was able to take some long distance photos without a tripod. There is not a lot you can do about the weight of the lens. There is a nice handle on It.I would suggest that maybe a good lens protector come with the lens.

Great lens for an awesome price.
Really liking the lens so far. Its pretty sharp and on my a6000 zooms in far enough to get some great shots without disturbing any wildlife.

Excellent reach,clarity, sharpness
This is the best value long lens out there. There are cheaper lenses available yet none with this level of quality. I paid about $1,200 for mine and I'll put it up against the much more expensive sony 200mm-600mm any day. And when you combine the quality, reach, and portability there is no peer. 'nuff said!

Good lens except mine was defective
I was at a local camera store testing out different lenses and liked the size, weight and optics of the Tamron FE 15-600. They wanted too much for it so I shopped around and found this used one on eBay. It practically looked new so I tested it out and seemed to work good. Then I was in a situation where an owl was hiding behind brush and I had to switch to manual focus. I spun the ring one complete rotation and it went from 5m to 7m distance of focus…. After 2 complete spins I could barely get it to fine tune the owl in focus and I lost the shot. Then I saw a bald eagle and same thing, MF mode required the ring to be spun way too much to get it to change focus distance. I have a Sony A9 with 4 other lens, and Canon R6/R7 with 8 RF lenses and 6 EF lenses including some Tamrons. The only time I ran into this issue was with a defective EF35-350L lens.
