Great Beginners Drone - Easy to Use
Finally had a chance to really get out and use this for a while. Let me start by saying, the initial set-up for me was a breeze. Downloading the app, connecting to the drone and the remote pairing, all went very smooth. The only real wrinkle of any kind was when connecting to the drone through my phones WiFi settings, my phone kept asking if I wanted to continue since the connection had no internet access. But that was my phone and not the drone. Make sure you follow the steps laid out in the instructions (they also are show when you start the app) and everything syncs up fine. Be sure to do the compass calibration as well. This is very important. On to the flying. I had tested it in a limited capacity to see that things all connected and worked. I had played around with the auto take off and auto land, as well as the return to home. All of that worked great. Then I finally got to go to a wide open area and fly it. Winds were a little gusty at around 8 to 10mph; but the drone did a good job of holding position with little drift. I took it up to about 60 feet or so and out over a river to get some footage. I had no issues at all. Controls were easy to use, the app performed fine, and the camera did too. Now, this camera is not stabilized on a 3 axis gimble, so don't expect cinema level footage. You are going to get some shake and movement. But this is a beginner drone. I payed $125 for it. I don't' think you will find any 3 axis gimbles in the price range. What I did get was nice, clear HD video that I am happy with.I then played with some of the functions like Follow Me and the Orbit/POI. The issues i had came from my unfamiliarity with how they worked. I went back to the book and refreshed my knowledge, and I was able to get both to work fine.In the process of using the Follow Me function, I inadvertently tested out the durability of the drone as well. I forgot to turn off the function, and in walking back to my car to retrieve something, I accidentally led the drone into a tree. Upon retrieving the drone, I found it was none the worse for wear, and I was able to immediately relaunch with no issues. Obviously, it does not have automatic obstacle avoidance. The batter life is as advertised , and I got 20 to 25 minutes of flight time from the charge. Also, I weighed this on a postal scale, and it came in under the 249gm mark, so no FAA registration to worry about. Be sure to get your TRUST certificate though.I am pleased with the purchase and feel like it is a solid value. I look forward to spending more time flying this drone.

First Impressions
The media could not be loaded. I've had this drone less than 24 hours and have only been able to fly indoors due to gusty winds outside. I'm not new to drone flying but make no claim at being an expert. That said, I retrieved and unpacked my new drone as soon as it was delivered. As others have stated, the packaging was very professional and secure. I immediately pulled out the battery and started charging. After charging for a couple of hours the charge led's (very easy to see) indicated it was ready. As you're not going to get GPS sattelite coverage indoors, I flew it first with the included remote only. I had already installed the app on my phone but it's not needed for non GPS mode flight.Rather than use the quick launch function indoors I slowly pushed the left stick forward until the drone lifted off. I found the control response very smooth and was able to barely lift off rather than immediately jumping 4 or 5' into air. I had no intention of doing any wild maneuvering inside the house. I only wanted to see how it handled. I have to say this is the most stable small drone I've flown to date. Even in non GPS mode the drone held it's horizontal position with almost no drift at all. I'm impressed! The sticks respond well to slightest input allowing me to hover the drone hands free. Now the reason for only 4 stars - the remote's phone holder. I'd love to sit down with the design team from this or other manufacurers and ask them one question. Why do you put so much attention to a high quality miniature flying vehicle and yet design a remote controller with a phone holder that won't hold any phone that I've seen in the last ten years? Why are you unable to design something vastly simpler than a drone? It seems to be an industry wide unsolvable problem! I'll gladly volunteer as a beta tester for future designs.I do really like the drone though and will update this review once I'm able to get some real flight time in.UPDATE: This is my new favorite small drone. I've flown it numerous times near my house and it's as stable outdoors as it was indoors. In GPS mode it maintains position with almost no drift. The controls respond to very subtle input from me allowing fine tuning of the drone's position. HOWEVER: the Ophelia Go app won't run on anything less than Android 12. There is an alternative though. Search for M RC Pro in the play store. I learned this when trying to use an Android tablet running Anroid 10.I love this drone but will leave my rating at 4 stars owing to the phone holder that isn't and the os picky Ophelia Go app. If you can live with those then BUY THIS DRONE!
