Roomy, good stitching, flexible, unstructured - in a good way
I was immediately impressed when I took this knapsack out of its packaging. It's lightweight but feels sturdy. The water-resistant exterior fabric is thick in a way that looks like it will not tear. The brown trim, which adds to the visual appeal, is thin fabric-like fake leather that might not hold up to sliding the knapsack in and out of an overhead airplane bin. The interior lining is a medium-weight plastic that should hold up. I've looked at other knapsacks with a lining that feels like paper. This lining is stronger than that. The nylon zippers are easy to zip and unzip. The side and top handles are thick and comfortable and are double-stitched (see image) under the exterior layer of fabric. Overall, the stitching looks substantial. There aren't many pockets and pouches for stashing stuff as in a conventional backpack. The amount and size of the pockets and pouches are more like a conventional suitcase. Except for the hideaway knapsack straps, this knapsack seems to be more of a suitcase style than a knapsack style. I like the color of the exterior fabric. Yes, it's grey, but it's not a dull grey or bland grey.I bought this item to fit in the overhead storage on an international flight because it meets the stricter size requirements they have. Also, it is unstructured which allows it to be malleable enough to get in an overhead bin. I'm sure though that it would not fit under an airline seat.Overall, I'm impressed with the item. I haven't yet traveled with it and hope it will hold up with repeated use.Recommended.

Lasts forever with rough wear!
My son has been using this backpack for over 2 years now when we travel and he’s been to 5 different continents with it. No tears or problems. It’s incredible and I can’t believe it’s lasted so long with all the tough travel use. It has a ton of compartments and zippered areas. Our Patagonia backpacks haven’t held up this great and they costed so much more. Love this item!!!

Versatile, Regulation Size
I purchased this after using a similar style from another vendor that fell apart on my first trip. This backpack is very sturdy and well made. I like the ability to zip it open like a suitcase, rather than just stuffing from top down like many backpacks. It's also easy to see what's inside. The computer/business pocket is a little much for me - I could've done with less pockets and would prefer to use the space for a variety of items. The dimensions work well as a "personal item" for many US airline regulations, which is great. The thing I liked least is the weight of the item - the fabric used, linings, multiple computer pockets, etc make this probably twice as heavy as other backpacks I've used, which isn't wonderful. Still, there are lots of great features, and I think it will last for a long time.I also love the strap that fits over my roller-bag handle which makes it easier to move both through an airport. Also love the color, and the front top pocket is nice and deep, to hold snacks and other things I'd like to access on long flights. The longer two zipper pockets below it on the front are more limited, although one was nice to hold my cables and related technology. Again, because of the heavy material used plus the lined pockets inside, it's not as flexible. Still, it's a keeper.

The most amazing carryon
I'm serious. Buy this if you're traveling abroad. I spent hours upon hours scouring the internet for the best possible carryon for a few reasons.1. A lot of times airlines will force you to check in your carryon if it's a rolling bag as opposed to if you're just carrying this on your back. This way I can avoid being voluntold.2. I was going to be doing a lot of walking through Europe. Sometimes you can just uber but a lot of times the most efficient, reliable & effective form of travel is public transportation. So if you're like me and have those early AM travel commutes, lugging a rollerbag through cobblestones to get to the metro or train station is just NOT it.3. If you're staying in a hostel a lot of times a roller bag isn't practical to have because it won't fit in the spaces provided for your to securely lock your items away.4. I needed something streamlined that would fit a lot( 2 weeks worth to be exact)5. I tend to overpack and this bag really helped me streamline my packing with having to sacrifice my desire to have options. The packing cubes in this bag are the most crucial component to making this the best bag. It does have many other compartments for storage, but the 3 packing cubes provided I credit to my being able to pack 2.5 weeks worth of clothes, my alloted liquids bag, makeup bag, jewelry pouch, straightening iron, 1 towel, 1 pair of flip flops, 2 charging cords, 1 outlet converter, 1 small purse, & 4 packs of Polaroid film. It can be done without it looking like a mountain on your back, it just takes some finesse .Also I'm 5'6" and I was able to carry this just fine while walking the 30 min to my airbnb from the train station.I will say that I'm going on a trip again next year in the winter so we'll see how this holds up for winter clothing bulk but I'm excited to put it to the test!TL;DR JUST BUY IT OKAY.
