Great Product, Powerful and perfect size
I am using this for my 1 gallon tank and it is the perfect size. I will probably order more for my other tanks to replace the air stones. I would recommend this to anyone that has an aquarium. There isn't anything negative to comment about this sponge filter. It comes with everything you need for setup. I did use some aquarium safe super glue to hold the air tube in the center. I have several snails in the tank and baby shrimps that will go into this once the tank cycles. Just wanted to be extra safe. I do want to make a suggestion to other buyers. You need to add a check valve to stop the water flow from coming back into the pump. These are super cheap and will save you money and keep your tank safe. You cut your hose, then put the check valve in with the arrow pointing in the right direction. It will prevent the pump from siphoning your fish tank. The water can leak onto the floor, draining your entire tank and damaging your air pump. You are getting great bang for your buck and I would love to see them give another option of a small air pump. I would buy the combo for sure. For now, I use a small pump and can regulate the air with the control valve that comes with the kit. Something I have seen mentioned in the reviews is the suction cups. Mine didn't come with any but I really didn't need them. Maybe it is also something they stopped including. For the price guys, this works super well and I am super happy I was able to find it.

Pleasantly surprised it worked perfect
I have 2 very small 1/2 gallon tanks I use for raising fish fry, so I really needed something that would help create some water movement and filtrate at the same time, and so I ordered 2 of these. At first, I thought, boy are these small, but always being one to give something new a try, I incorporated them into the small fish fry tanks. Surprisingly, they have worked out well. Coupled with a very small air pump, that runs very low pressure, they add just the right amount of agitation to the water to keep the tank from becoming stagnant without taking up a huge amount of space in a small tank. And it filters the water well, giving a place for your beneficial bacteria to grow and help maintain a health environment. Again, this is small, and works for a very specific sized environment. I plan on ordering another couple just to have on backup.Any tank bigger and you'll likely want a bigger unit, but this one, used with a low pressure air pump won't throw your little fishes against their surroundings and injure or stress them out.

Great but no instructions
The media could not be loaded. I got this filter for my 3 gallon Betta fish aquarium. These filters are better for betta's compared to the usual filters as they sometimes get caught. This one is gentle and effective. There were zero instructions and I had to go look up tons of videos to figure out how to use it. So let me save you the time. Watch my video please. You will need to get an air pump that is compatible with the gallon size of your aquarium. I am using a Whisper 10 air pump that is also available on Amazon. You then need to loop the big tube over the small one and insert the small one into the filter top. Then put the big tube over it, into the filter top. You then need to cut the long tube (cut long) so it can be hooked up to the tube adapter (see photos). Then cut it again to add in the pump flow adjuster. Hook the rest of the tube directly into your air pump. You can test it in a bowl, or cup with water to get the flow set to what you want before you put it in your tank. I hope this helps save someone the hassle of watching videos.Have a beautiful day!

Great Little Filter - Betta loves it!
Filter works perfectly for the setup that I have, size is absolutely fantastic. Large bubbles that my betta loves to play in. The only downside is that the airflow control valve that comes with the filter is too large for the included airline tubing. The tubing does have an adapter at each end so that it fits on the connection points at either end, so I may end up connecting standard size tubing to install the included airflow valve. If you are into the hobby and have spare parts lying around, it’s not a big deal, but expect to invest another couple of bucks to get it perfect (not a major concern given the price point).

Cleans quietly
Makes everything very quiet and cleans up the tank. Fits 3/16" tubing as well as tubing that it comes with. Bought 3 for a splitter with a 20GPH Uniclife air pump for 5-30 Gallon Tank between 3 1.1 gallon or less tanks.

Sponge filter too small for 10gals and non instructions provided
The media could not be loaded. The sponge filter is smaller than I expected for a 10-gallon tank, unlike how was described. Apparently it’s more sustained with a 5 gallon tank with the diameter of 2.5in. (Sponge for 10gals Ideally would be 4.5)ALSO it doesn’t come with an instruction on how to assemble so be prepared. I wouldn’t say it’s complicated but is WILL take some time to be figured out. I watched a few videos on YouTube and found that the one by “Pablo Hunt” was the most useful.Overall it's a great pump. I plan to move it from my 10 gallon tank to a 5 gallon tank.

Works Surprisingly Well
I’ve had this in a 2g shrimp tank for over a year and it’s been great. I paired it with a Tetra Whisper air pump so it’s very quiet. I recommend tossing the included control valve and connecting it straight to a backflow stopper valve. I have no complaints whatsoever. As an experienced home aquarist, I recommend this to anyone with a small tank.
