Excellent and simple to use

Bought this as my room was in a WiFi dead zone. Installing and connecting the two adapters was easy and quick, and my connection has improved massively. I'd heard that these adapters can sometimes slow the max speed but I don't seem to have any slowdown (my isp advertizes 65-75mbps and I consistently get 72mbps). The passthrough feature is also great as it keeps the socket free, and I haven't experienced any noise/interference even with a multisocket plugged in. Definitely worth the price.

Easy setup. Reliable and fast. Large footprint will block adjacent electrical socket.

Just bought a second pair of these, this time from Amazon's only real high street rival, who had them for £75 for one day over the Black Friday weekend. I had tried to get the first pair to work with a Devolo plug but there were problems with set up and reliability so I ditched that idea. The second pair of TP-Links work seamlessly with the first and were easy to set up. Just to confirm they will work across difference household circuits no problem. In my office where I have problems with space (given the size of these plugs), I made up a small extension lead; a plug, a length of good quality 3 core, and a double socket 'end', all from Wilko. The TP-link worked perfectly well connected to the mains via this. However because of the TP-link plug size the second mains socket on the extension end could not be used. I plugged in a three way extension block (you know- a white cube with sockets on three sides) into the Wilko extension and then plugged the TP-link into this. That released the second mains socket on the Wilko extension for use and, surprisingly I thought, the TP-link plug worked just as well. Its a bit Heath-Robinson-ish but its tucked into a cupboard so no eye-sore here. My guess is, if you use extensions without surge circuitry and LEDs etc then you powerline plugs are much more likely to work. I assume if it were plugged straight into a wall (along with any other electrical item) it wouldn't have surge protection..? I have never had any experience of surges, not the electrical sort anyway...

Works, but not quite what it says on the box speed wise!

TP-Link TL-PA9020PKITDoes it work yes, but with big riders or more a case of liar liar pants on fire!In reality you will get nothing like the advertised 2000Mbs even next to each other, although to be fair all the other Powerline type devices suffer from this same problem, must be aspiring politicians! It doesn't work well between different circuits on a mains breaker/fuse box/consumer unit, so if upstairs is on a different ring/circuit, don't expect much.On just the downstairs ring, at furthest socket (25m) was getting up to about 30MBps and over 50Mbps at 10m socket so definitely usable, to the garden shed - no connection! The devices are well made, the only bad point is that the LED lights are on the side, and typically every socket they were plugged in to they couldn't be easily seen (close to corner wall/furniture)- on the front would be a lot more sensible, with an off switch for the LED's.Conclusion:Decided to bite the bullet and actually install wired ethernet, which won't cost much more and is then zero cost (no power consumption). The units are good for what they do, but limited by your mains wiring layout. They are easy to use, it really is plug, press and play. provided the electrical circuits are suitable.Would I buy again? Probably not, better off using wired ethernet which I can, just more work!

Fantastic piece of kit

I have upgraded after having a TP-Link AV600 for 5 years. The upgrade is massive and palpable. The TP-Link AV600 capped out for me at 80mbps maximum and had frequent disconnects. This AV2000 is now maxing out my 150mbps broadband and I feel its futurproof and ready for my next broadband speed increase

Complete letdown on performance

First the good bits. It was easy to install. It worked as such. The speed might well be enough for many people. So I gave it a 3 star for these good pointsBad points. The performance is nowhere near advertised. I have just upgraded my broadband from 50Mbps to 900 Mbps. Quite a jump. So I need to get that 900 Mbps to other places in the house. My existing power-line adapters were old and just not up to it. So I looked at these. "Up to 2000 Mbps" it claimed. Well, I didn't expect 2000 Mbps (especially with the ethernet limited to 1000 Mbps), but I was hoping for something close.I tried it with both adapters in the same room. I got about 220 Mbps. My house is only 9 years old, so the wiring is fairly new. I tried with one adapter upstairs -- about 150 Mbps.If I can only get 220 Mbps in the SAME ROOM, how the heck does anyone achieve anything close to the stated "up to 2000 Mbps"? Doing a google search after this disappointment, it seems the answer to that question is "nobody" and that 200 Mbps is around the maximum you'll ever get with power line adapters.I'm disappointed they advertise "Up to 2000 Mbps", which I appreciate says "up to", but you'd expect a ball-park figure wouldn't you? I've just brought an electric car with a range of "Up to 295 miles" . I don't expect 295. I get 250 miles. That's a reasonable use of "Up to", I get something close-ish. But going from the advertised "Up to 2000 MBps" down to 220 Mbps, is just truly misleading. My solution.... return units to Amazon (thank you Amazon as usual) and use the WiFi booster that Vodafone provided. In my upstairs office I now get 400Mb to 500Mb. I'm still not getting the full potential of the fibre broadband, but it is more than acceptable. it's also reliable, reading reviews of this adapter and for the Devolo adapter seems that a common complaint is they have to be re-booted every few weeks.I'll stay on wifi until I can get round to putting Gigabit wired ethernet around the house.
