It’s loud but it’s
Bought this to replace a smart switch that bit the dust after a power outage. Didn’t want to confuse my elderly mother but didn’t want her to leave the lights on either. This fit the bill. My only “eh” is that it’s loud. The ticking. So when I take a bath, it’s always ticking. Honestly though, it’s not terrible and for the money, I can ignore it. It was easy to install (especially in comparison to the smart switch it replaced) and it works great.

Easy to install
I ordered 2 of these because the wall switch for the light in my walk-in closet and and switch for the fan in my bathroom did not have a neutral wire available for the electronic programable timers. The timer switch is easy to install, just remove the old toggle switch and hook the wires on the timer switch to the two wires that run to the old switch. There is no hookup for a ground wire. The switch works perfectly as long as you wind it past the 10 minute mark. I'm comfortable turning of the breaker and installing a timer switch like this but if you are not, call and electrician. Be safe.

Easy 2 wire installation
HBN Mechanical Countdown Timer Switch for Lights, Bathroom Fan Timer was easy to install, just a 2 wire install, really wish it had a ground wire, just to feel better about it all. I used it to control a bathroom fan that got constantly left on, despite my constant pleading to remember to turn it off. When it hits zero, there is a noticeable "clunk" which is the contacts opening and interrupting the circuit. Some folks have complained about not being able to set it for less than 10 minutes, hogwash, just follow the printed instructions ON the timer about turning past 10 first. That ensures the timer spring is sufficiently wound to operate.
