Better than expected. Saves time in cooking everything separately.
I am an experienced cook and sometimes my husband and I enjoy having breakfast sandwiches for dinner with tater tots. Prior to getting this sandwich maker, the process of making these sandwiches included cooking sausage patties or whatever meat was used, cooking the eggs (often with diced onions and green peppers added to the eggs), having cheese slices ready, and toasting the English muffins. Then the sandwiches had to be assembled before everything got cold. This process really wasn't a big deal, but when I discovered this breakfast sandwich maker, I had to try it. I figured it was well worth the cost if it made the process easier and faster.Still, I was skeptical since there are so many appliances available to accomplish specific tasks that can be done without having to store another appliance. I tried this sandwich maker for the first time tonight, and I have to say I was impressed with the results, but have ideas for improvements I will explain later.Tonight, I made two sets of sandwiches. For the first set, I precooked breakfast sausage patties, did not toast the English muffins and did not butter them. I diced onions, green peppers, and tomatoes that were added on top of the egg for cooking, and used Monterey/jack cheese. So, after the preheat, put in the bottom muffin, cheese on top, and then the sausage patty. Closed the level for the egg, added the egg, diced onion, diced green pepper, and diced tomato, and then topped with the English muffin. For the second set, I toasted the English muffin on a bagel setting and buttered both halves. I put the cheese on the bottom toasted and buttered muffin, and diced ham on top of the cheese instead of a sausage patty. I cooked both sets for 5.5 minutes and allowed the cooker to preheat after the first set. Both sets of sandwiches were good, but what I found was:1) Toasting and buttering of the English muffin really didn't make much of a difference other than the outer side of the muffin was browner and the cheese was a bit fried.2) The egg on both sandwiches was negligible. It seemed to be absorbed by the upper muffin.I do tend to challenge appliances to the limit and have ideas I will try next time. Although the instructions say to limit the egg size to 1 medium to large egg. I used an x-large egg for all sandwiches and still had plenty of room after adding the diced onion, bell pepper, and tomato. I plan to try using two eggs since there was no problem adding the diced veggies. I think a visible layer of egg may be better with more egg. In addition, I will try letting the egg set before putting the top muffin on top. By putting the muffin on top of the raw egg, the muffin absorbed part of the egg, hence no noticeable layer of egg. Next time, I won't bother toasting the muffins since it was toasted fine in the cooker, and buttering the muffins only added more fat and no benefit. In conclusion, I believe this cooker is well worth the price as it saves time in making breakfast sandwiches and does a good job in making them. This is one of the appliances that does not have to be limited to the intended use. The breads you use and the ingredients in the sandwiches are left to your imagination. I am still experimenting, and will update this review when I find more uses, better ways to use this appliance, or if my opinion changes.I hope this review is helpful for you.

Excellent Product
This is another kitchen gadget that I got for my step mom. She loves all kinds of kitchen items. She mentioned one day how she liked my home made Sausage egg and cheese Muffins. But she didn't like the effort it took, which is understandable. She's older and just wants to get things done. So I saw this and got it for her. IT works great. You just add your ingredients, stacked in and close it. That's it. And the breakfast sandwiches actually come out really nice, toasted and were delicious. 5 stars.

Easy breakfast maker
Saw this item while browsing. Reviews were good so I took a chance. Very satisfied, well packaged and delivered on time. Instructions well written but I suggest watching 2 or 3 You Tube videos to aquatint yourself with product. Worked great first time and cleanup was a breeze. food tasted as well if not better than unnamed fast food restaurant, product website has other receipt ideas. I recommend this product and feel you will be pleased with results.

Great for breakfast lovers
Got as a gift for my parents who love making breakfast sandwiches! The size is perfect and doesn't take up too much counter space! Easy to make sandwiches with different toppings for each person! Easy to clean and store either in a cupboard or on the counter! Easy to wipe clean and reuse daily! Heats up quick without too much wait time in my opinion!

So close. Only 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
At any time of day, I really enjoy eating foods that are labeled as breakfast foods. Hot breakfast foods can be very satisfying. They can be good for you depending on the ingredients, too! When I saw the Hamilton Beach Dual Breakfast Sandwich Maker on a ‘Reel’, I had to check it out. I was sold after a few hours with my usual excessive research, the only thing I had to really chose was did I want the single or the double sandwich maker? After a few minutes I decided to go with the dual unit. After all, I can make just one depending on my appetite and for a few more bucks it’s worth the investment. Besides, the price of going out to grab some breakfast is not as ‘cost effective’ as it used to be (and there is no need to crawl of out of the house after getting dressed, etc. etc. etc.).After the first use, I was certain I did not make a mistake. I can use the ingredients that I want instead of what they use at a restaurant or deli, which who knows what that could be.VERY easy to use. Just plug it in, and it starts warming automatically without turning on any switches. The preheating time is quick (about 3 minutes), which gives me time to get the ingredients ready to go. Pop the ingredients in the maker, set it for 5 minutes, and VIOLA! Breakfast is ready!!! (During my research I noted a few complaints about the raw egg flowing out of the sides. The reason for preheating is so the egg white starts to cook right away, thus sealing the edges.)Cleaning is simple. Wash the doodad that hold the ingredients in place and wipe down the heating surfaces with soapy water & rinse. Easy peasy. My favorite part about this is that I don’t have to cook over the stove and have to wait for the toaster to pop up. Basically, it’s a set & forget for whatever cook time is chosen (the unit continues to heat until its unplugged, so please do not totally forget it).The reasons I am only giving it 4.5 stars is for a few design flaws.#1. The cord is too short. It’s only 2 feet long, and I don’t have a ton of outlets & counterspace in my kitchen. Adding a foot or 2 would be preferable.#2. No place to wrap the cord when not in use. Perhaps placing notches on the back 2 feet would solve this issue. (I will say that there are very few appliances have a place to store the cord.)#3. No on/off switch/button. The first time I used it, I was so excited to eat breakfast from my new contraption, it wasn’t until I was done with breakfast that I realized that the unit was continuing to heat. Now that I know this, I unplug the unit when the sandwiches are done. Perhaps when the timer goes off the unit turns off at that time as well would be a solution.#4. As easy as it is to cleanup the heating surfaces, it would’ve been nice if these plates were removable so they can be taken off for a thorough washing & drying. I have another appliance that has removable plates which makes it nice to clean. I plan on getting some Silpat silicone mats and cutting a couple of customized mats to rectify this situation.35. No cookbook, not even a pamphlet for recipes. My cooking skills are basically ‘That tastes good, lets add this, that & the other stuff’ type. I am always looking for new ideas & suggestions. The Hamilton Beach website does not have a simple ‘click here’ for recipes, which could be very helpful for their customers.All-in-all, I am very happy with this purchase. The issues are minimal, and breakfast is always tasty! If you’re on the fence about this and are hesitating, ask yourself a couple of questions:You like hot breakfast foods? You like to not have to crawl out of the house to grab breakfast (or meal)? You like saving $$$ by making it yourself? If you answered yes to at least 2 of these questions, buy the Hamilton Dual (or single if that’s all you need) Breakfast Sandwich Maker. I think you’ll be glad you did.Have a Great Day!
