If i use this with an appletv to connect to speakers with optical line, will this allow volume control from the appletv?

Will this work for tvs that have hdmi but don't have a headphone jack included? wanted to buy this for use for mini consoles and headphones.

It should. I have this hooked to a projector for an outdoor screen. I have an audio cable hooked to an external speaker. So in essence, the exact same thing you want to do. Works great.

Is there a 4k/60hz model? (this only does 4k @ 30hz not 60hz.)

My meidong soundbar (has an aux and rcb output in back) won't connect to my tcl roku tv. Would this be exactly what I need to pair the soundbar to tv?

For this HDMI audio extractor with ARC function, The output spdif port  and 3.5mm aux port could connect audio device like soundbar, speaker, headphone. So you could connect the sound bar on this product's AUX port.  The TV could connect the product's HDMI output.
Besids,  I'd like to remind that the AUX port support 2.1CH audio, not support 5.1 CH.
