This set would be a perfect gift for a beginner- it's small and doesn't include a bunch of parts. It does come with the little clips to mark your spot which is really neat to help pick up where you left off. This comes with a soft nylon material? It's not yarn but it won't fray or get rough/torn up over time with use. It includes picture instructions. I would definitely buy this again as a gift, it would be perfect for kids/teens/elderly or just anyone starting off! If you're a pro at crochet you probably would have this craft done in 10-15 minutes but it could definitely be a teaching tool to help you teach someone else!
